1940 Buick Limited Series 80 Model 81 Touring Sedan

This classic Buick has been part of my personal collection for nearly 10 years. It is in very good condition.

The restoration was completed when I purchased it. The interior was redone with the correct grey cloth. The seats reupholstered, new door panels and carpeting front and rear installed. There are no holes or tears in the upholstery and overall it is clean and presentable. All the instrumentation works. Steering wheel and horn ring are NOS. Dash panels look very sharp.

I purchased the car from a man from Illinois who owned it for 15 years and had done the following work. He installed a rebuilt fuel pump with neoprene diaphragm. The car has had a complete brake overhaul including NOS wheel cylinders, NOS master cylinder, new hoses and relined brake shoes. Silicone fluid was used. NOS shocks front and rear were installed. Bumpers, bumper guards and parking light housings were show chromed. All stainless is excellent – no kinks or bends. Grille is an excellent original and did not need to be re-plated. Outside rear view mirrors are mint NOS. No broken glass in any of the windows.

When he purchased the car he was told the engine had been rebuilt at 78,000 miles. There are probably 22,000 miles on the rebuilt engine as the car just passed the 100,000 mark. The car is mechanically good. I have had no problems with the car in the 10 years I’ve owned it.

As with all the classic cars I own, I drive it around our small town. The car is stored in my climate-controlled garage. This is a fine classic car and a good driver.
