1970 Buick GS 455" GSX Tribute

Originally a real GS 455, this car was converted to a Stage 1 GSX tribute many years ago by the owner ofCooper Buick in Monroe, Louisiana. Thereafter, it remained inside his climate controlled showroom as the centerpiece of his dealership. It was converted back when it was easy (especially if you were a Buick dealer) to order N.O.S. GSX parts! At the same time, it was also converted to Stage 1 specifications.

The car was purchased off the Buick dealer’s showroom floor by the gentleman who sold the car to me. I’ve owned the car for seven years and it has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse (heated and cooled) inside of an Air Chamber plastic bubble, along with the rest of my collection.

This car drives beautifully. Everything is fully functional including the A/C and radio. The engine and transmission are original to the car. There are 108,572 original miles on the car. The engine pulls strong and the car drives perfectly straight. You could drive cross-country if you wanted! The entire exhaust is jet-hot coated and will always look brand new and never rust.

The body panels are all original and there has never been any rust. The car has been repainted and the paint is older and there is some very minor bubbling due to inadequate preparation and the passage of time. You must look very, very closely to see it. So, the paint isn’t absolutely perfect, but it’s very nice and more than presentable. Again, it’s hardly noticeable, but I wanted to disclose it and would ask that you come inspect it if you have any apprehensions whatsoever.

The interior is mint, mint, mint. The driver’s seat has been reupholstered. The passenger seat is original and has a seam that is beginning to unravel, but is hardly noticeable. The radio is original. The clock works. Air conditioner works. The speed sensor (an option) even works! This car drives better than new (no doubt due to the modern radial tires!)

The trunk area is perfect, as you can see in the photos.

The only reason I am selling is because I no longer have the space to store my entire collection of over 30 vehicles. This was the first car I bought for the collection and it has been routinely maintained and cherished during the seven years I’ve owned it.

A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 5 days of Auction end.

If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise.

Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 1995 or with more than 100K miles. Make sure if financing, your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding.
