1957 CHEVROLET 150 POST COUPE. A painstaking nut and bolt ground up restoration – everything was restored, re-upholstered, plated, polished, painted, re-wired and/or replaced – the results being just like looking at, and driving, a brand new 1957 Chevrolet. No expense was spared. An Oakland built, original onyx black, six, stick, 87000 actual mile, rust-free coupe; the proverbial “little old ladies” car that was restored to the image as we know as the “Black Widow.” Photos do not do this car justice. This is a base 150 coupe and void of any accessories – other than the southern states heater, ivory accented trunk areas and the foot pump-actuated windshield washer unit. The engine compartment appears as though a brand new 1957 270 H.P. dual quad corvette engine w/9 fin valve covers and spun aluminum air cleaners were set into the engine bay. A 8500 R.P.M. Black Faced Sun Tachometer is correctly side mounted on the steering column, along with the lighted Stewart Warner gauge panel w/curved glass oil and temperature gauges mounted under the dash. The steering column was correctly restored so there were no tell-tale signs of the 3 speed transmission linkage, an aluminum Borg Warner T10 4 speed transmission was installed with an “S” shaped 409 shifter in front of the bench seat. A brand new 3.55 positraction rear axle was installed for highway speeds and the Corvette 15 x 5” wheels w/dog dish hubcaps and black wall tires give it that sleeper look.
