I have invested over four thousand hours in its creation, personally assembling the entire car myself, procuring parts and participating in the preparatory processes of the painting and plating. I was involved and supervised every step of the restoration. Every detail was meticulously attended to. Much care was taken in determining the correct plating and painting for each part. Sikkens paint was used almost exclusively. Over five liters of clear coat was applied. All original aluminum trim, including the grille, headlight extensions, headlight surrounds, rear body trim and vinyl top moldings were stripped, professionally polished and re-anodized. No reproduction trim work was used on this Chevelle. All chrome parts were triple plated copper, nickel and chrome. All stainless was professionally polished.

The engine was completely rebuilt by T C Automotive, a specialty engine builder in Mankato, Minnesota. The components selected for the engine rebuild were as close to original factory specifications as possible. All engine systems work extremely well together, especially the cam, air and fuel systems. The engine runs as though it just came of the assembly line. The engine was run on a dyno prior to installation in the frame. The engine was brought up to temperature and the cam was broke in. Power output was 340 horsepower and 440 foot pounds of torque. The car has only been driven to test operating systems and has 30 miles on the odometer. This Chevelle runs as good as it looks and sounds stupendous!

This is the second automobile that I have restored. The other car is an all original 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport “409” convertible. It was a multiple year restoration project also. It won many national awards including two Gold Spinners at Chevy/ Vettfest in Chicago. It scored 996 and 999 points out of 1000 points and was best in its class. It also won best Chevrolet of the show at the St. Ignace auto show in Michigan where 900 vehicles competed. At that show, the Vice President of General Motors presented a special trophy made by GM for the award winner. The car also placed best in class at the Late Great Chevy National convention in Kansas City.

I sold the car in 1998 to a collector in Montana for a world record price. He now has 80+ cars in his collection and says mine is still one of his favorites. I believe this Chevelle is every bit the car the “409” is. In fact, John Sieberg from the award winning John’s Body Shop in Nicollet Minnesota (507-947-3120) believes it is a notch above the “409”. John has restored many six figure automobiles from all over the United States. He also did all of the body work and paint on this Chevelle. Please feel free to call John or me if you have any questions or would like more information. I believe the best option for understanding the value and uniqueness of this beautiful Chevelle is to see it in person.

Update information 11-7-09: Several people have asked if I would take a trade. I will consider it. It doesn't have to be a classic car, but It has to be a fair price!

It has come to me by advice from a well respected Chevelle collector and seller that I should be more forth coming in my discloser about the trim tag detail that is on the left side of the cowl. When I added the black vinyl top, the trim tag needed to be changed to accomodate the change, so the trim tag is a reprodution. I am sorry to have inconvenienced anyone with this.I am not a professional Chevellecollector nor do I know what constitues a mortal sin regarding all restoration protocol.I was not aware this change would be elevated to the level of a moral failure if I didn't disclose it in the description of the facts of the car. Understand many things are not original on this car, like the base coat/ clear coat paint instead of the original lacquer, the plating is far supperior to what was available in 67, the interior is reproduction, many internal engine parts are different than original- like the piston rings, the pistons and the cam. Light bulbs are reproduction, carpet, door panels, headlinerare allreproduction.I bought the carburator from Chicago Corvette with the correct codes. I did the same with the the starter. The front calipers are off a 68 I think. The tires are reproduction. I could go on for an eternity telling you whynot everything on thiscar is original. However the description I gave on the car including all of the date codes, original drive train parts and the fact it is an 88,000 mile Chevelle is 100% CORRECT. If anyone who bought this caris not 100% satisfied after they inspect the car, I will give them their money back including the deposit. By the way, I am selling this car as is. No warranty whats so ever. Please email me if there are any other items you feel need to be fully disclosed to your satisfaction. I do not want any of my actions to be deemed deceptiveandelevated to the level of an unforgivable sin.
