This is a 1962 Corvair panel van.It is extremely well preserved and could be the nicest corvair panel left on the planet. it has 37,000 actual miles on it. This van has been kept in a garage since it was new.I found this van 13 years ago in Los Angeles.andshipped it to Ohio. The van was originally purchased by aman who used it in his upholstery shop in Burbank Calif..he had it for almost 30 years and used it very little. It was in the back of his garage when it wasn t being used. The van was purchased by a custom painterLarry Watson, who used it for his shop truck.Watson is the painter who painted many of Ed "big daddy" Roths'(the creator of rat fink)show cars. I purchased the van from him..Since then I have rebuilt the carbs, installed a new gas tank and sendingunit. the fuel system was contaminated from sitting and dirt in the tank so it is now spanking clean.and was tuned and synchronized by a GM master mechanic. It has a new clutch and the 3 speed trans was replaced with a corvair 4 speed. It still has the generator ,notan alternator. the fuel pump is also new.The paint is 6 years old but again it has been inside and is like new. The wheels are centerline wheels with cooper tires. They have less than 2000 miles on them. The interior is a gray tweed. The seat was redone and the walls were done in the same material. The motor was cleaned and painted but other than that is origional and stock.Being a corvair It has the typical oil leaks in the push rod tubes. the seals in the motor are the origional factory seals. there are aftremarket seals availible to fix this, one of the things I have wanted to do but never got around to. The leaks are not severe but should be fixed. This van has NO RUST on it , I know that is used a lot by many but this van has rarely seen water. I've been over and under this van and can not find rust anywhere. There is a picture where I lifted the floor cover. One of the first places these vans rusted was the floor under the driver. you can see the origional paint and no rot of anykind. This van has not been restored, and has never been wrecked. a nicer corvan panel you may never find. It is a great vehicle for cruisin'. very unusual, and I hate to use the word rare but it really is.Most people, even the carsmart guys, dont know what it is. these vans were only made for 4 years in the early 60's .There wern't a lot of them made, and even fewer saved. the vans were work vehicles and in the days before the van craze most were beat to death. I guarantee you there are more corvair monzas and spyders than clean panel vans now days.they were designed to compete with the vw bus.and were replaced by the Chevy van in 1965. there is a set of orange neon lights under the van. and an alpine stereo ,'although I've had problems with the power switch on it.the van comes with an asortment of spare parts as well as a set of origionalG.M. shop manuels This van gets a little over 20MPG. not bad fora 45 year old vehicleI am selling it because I have to. I really don't want to let it go.I know I'll never find another one like it. I hope it goes to someone that will take the same care of it.hope this answers any questions. if not mail me and I will do my best to help. buyer must arrange for any shipping, but I will help as much as I can. I prefer local pick up. thanks for looking.

the clutch was changed after I got it and the pressure plate was also replaced with a new one. the door rubbers are in need of replacement on the cargo doors. the front door rubbers are in decent shape.

this is a 45 year old van. It is in excelent shape, but, it is not a museum piece, it is not perfect. there are minor flaws here and there .but is easily worth the reserve.
