1972 Chev. Monte Carlo **Triple Black** 402 Big Block ~ CRISTAL/DP Champagne ~

You are bidding on one of the finest 1972 Montes in the country. It is a numbers matching, unmolested, professionally restored example thatwas originally sold new at Tuggle Chevrolet Olds, Inc. in Newberry, S. Carolina. Have the original build sheet, protec-o-plate, owners manual, warranty booklet and original documentation. This is a 402 ci 4 bbl. big block engine with a Turbo 400tranny w/12 bolt rearend and 2.73 factory specified ratio. In 1972, Chevy produced more than 180,000 Montes. Less than 10,000 examples were optioned with the potent 402 big block (same as the venerable 396 ci). The engine sound of the 402 big block reminds you of why muscle cars of the 70's are in high demand these days.The tranny was recently checked and certified by a reputable transmission technician as being 'THE BEST TURBO 400' he has seen. It shifts with authority and no issues. This Monte underwent a professional frame-off restoration rebuild and restored to original factory specs, with no expense spared. It was stripped to bare metal with no rust issues and finshed in a stunning black urethane original factory black, that can only be described as 'breathtaking.' The body is as straight as can be and the finish is mirror like. The vinyl top is flawless with no rips, tears or weather fade. At the 2006 National Monte Carlo Convention, this Monte won 'BEST PAINT' and was one of the 'TOP FOUR' 1st generation (1970 - 1972) Montes. Some of the original factory options are air conditioning (recently serviced & blows cold), power windows, power door locks, tilt steering, rear window defogger, electric clock (new quart clocks are available), factory dual exhaust with correct chrome tips, bucket seats, Delco AM-FM stereow/cassette, w/s antenna and 4-spoke steering wheel. It has vinyl, pleated bucket seats and one of a very few that came from the factory with column shifter w/no console. However, for the winning buyer, I will include a complete center console with shifter (a $350.00 value). Everything was rebuilt, replated, replaced or repainted. The undercarriage is immaculate from front to rear. The restoration was completed approximately 4 years ago in Nebraska and has approximately 1200 miles on the rebuilt engine. The only non-factory item are the 15" X 7" Rallye wheels. Instead of the 'Argent' silver painted factory wheels, chrome CorvetteRallye wheels were used and mated to new R70 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's w/raised white letters. This combination only enhances the outstanding triple black combination. Remember, this is an original 67,000 mile example. All restoration recepits are included.It has never seen rain and is always covered and garage kept storage facility. The black'stretch' California Cover is included. The approximate cost to duplicate this Monte would be $42-$45K. The only issue is a 3"-4" tear along the stitched seam on the passenger seat, which will repaired before conveying to the new owner. If you have ever owned, desired or admired 1st. generation Monte Carlos, do not let this one get away. This is ready for show and drive anywhere, with no issues. Typically, you would have to attend a Barrett-Jackson auction to find this example. I will try and answer all questions but do so before bidding.
