Show-quality paint jobs are pretty common here at Best of Show Automotive. In fact, we do a lot of them ourselves in our own facility, and our cars have won top awards at the top shows in the country. Because of this, it takes something really special to get our body men to notice someone else's work. The paint on this awesome '64 Nova had them talking for hours.

First of all, pro-street isn't dead, not by a long shot. Putting this much power in a car, then getting it street-legal and easy to drive is one hell of an achievement, and whenever you drive this car, it's impossible to resist dipping into those endless reserves of horsepower. If you've never driven a really big horsepower car with monster tires, then you probably aren't familiar with the kind of reality-altering acceleration that a properly set-up pro-street car can generate. If you want to drive this car, you'd better prepare yourself in advance because there's nothing like it.

But first, back to that paint. This is a steel car—only the hood is fiberglass—and every square inch of it was smoothed and massaged into better-than-new condition before the first drop of paint was sprayed. It was expertly fitted around a pro-built roll cage and front suspension, as well as the Christ Alston 4-link out back. Once it was perfect, Corvette silver base was sprayed over every square inch as a foundation for the killer graphics designed and applied by Barely Legal Customs in Oregon. A wild tribal graphics pattern separates the silver from the Tangelo pearl lower half, and it has countless hours of airbrushing and shading techniques that give it a carbon-fiber-like appearance. Then it was all topped with several coats of clear, then wet-sanded and buffed to a flawless finish. Run your fingers over it and you can't detect where the colors overlap, and it's so deep and so rich that it almost appears three-dimensional.

This car isn't just pretty and don't make the mistake of thinking that it's all show and no go. Under the hood is a detailed show engine compartment housing an 8-71 blown 468 cubic-inch big block Chevrolet built by David Sartelle at Rocket Engineering. Starting with a 4-bolt main 454 truck block, it was relieved and clearance for a forged steel crank and rods by SCAT, topped by a set of TRW 8.36:1 blower pistons. Up top, a set of ported and polished GM rectangle port heads with Manley valves, heavy duty double valve springs, Harland-Sharp roller rockers handle the breathing, thanks to a blower-matched Iskanderian camshaft and Smith Brothers hardened pushrods. A BDS 8-71 supercharger with two blueprinted 750 CFM Holley blower carburetors handles the air and fuel delivery. A 100% custom exhaust system by Shane Burton at Custom Exhaust Specialties dumps the fumes through a pair of 40-series Flowmaster mufflers with Q.T.P. electronic cutouts. Even at 3% underdrive, it makes 9 PSI of boost and twists out 750 dyno-proven horsepower on pump gas. All that power is delivered by a built Turbo 400 automatic transmission with a Hughes 3000 RPM stall torque converter for great street manners.

Of course, you can't put that kind of power in a chassis without some serious upgrades, and this car has been properly built to be safe, comfortable, and reliable. Up front, there's a complete Heidt's front end with custom tubular A-arms and rack-and-pinion steering. Harnessing all those horsepower out back is a Chris Alston 4-link chassis with QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks holding a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear stuffed with 3.89 gears. There's also a Wilwood disc brake at each corner, giving this car the whoa power to match its go power.

Rolling stock consists of a pair of 26x7.5R15 Hoosier skinnies up front, while out back are a set of absolutely massive 31x18.5R15 Hoosier Pro Street radials, all mounted on lightweight polished Weld Pro-Star rims. Even with eighteen-and-a-half inches of tire on the ground, this massive engine can still spin them at will. Like I said, you'd better gird your loins when you drive a car like this one.

Inside, there's more show-stopping work. The fully custom interior has a full 12-point roll cage that hugs the Nova's boxy contours and creates an incredibly stiff and safe platform. The low-back bucket seats are upholstered in Passion Tweed that compliments the graphics on the outside of the car and creates a great environment for doing business. The dashboard is 100% custom built and houses a full complement of Autometer gauges that are molded in. There's an Ididit steering column with tilt and the whole car is wired with Centech wiring.

Somewhere, I'm sure there are guys who think 750 horsepower is too much. Fortunately, they weren't in charge of building this car. The guys who built this car took it all the way to "too much" and then added a little more for good measure. With show car detailing, that eye-popping paint, and physics-defying performance, this '64 Nova will change the way you look at streetable performance forever. It starts and idles better than 750 horses ever have, and is happy putting around town in traffic. But any time you see an opportunity, I recommend letting those horses stretch their legs a little bit. Just be ready for it when you do—it'll change your entire definition of speed.

Convinced that collector car values are plummeting? Don't be fooled! While the value of mediocre cars has been steadily sliding with the economy over the past two years, the value of incredible cars has stayed level and, is rising. In times of economic uncertainty, capital flows to the highest quality assets which contain the least amount of risk and the classic car market is no exception. The lesson is simple: buy the very best you can find!

Please note that all sales are binding and final. Our cars are sold "as-is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Please carefully read the terms & conditions of the sale before bidding. Winning this auction does not entitle you to come inspect the car and decide if you want to buy it, but obligates you to complete the purchase! A $1000.00 deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours of the auction close ... NO EXCEPTIONS.

We do not release our reserve prices, as this would be unfair to the other bidders, so please don't ask!

Best of Show Automotive sells approximately 40 cars each and every month to collectors worldwide. Each and every one of these cars is listed on Ebay, but only one sale, on average per month, actually occurs on Ebay. Accordingly, if you see a car you like, don't wait! Call us! When you see it disappear, it means that it sold to someone who saw it somewhere else. Lastly, note that we do not change our pricing on any car based on Ebay auction activity. Ebay is a wholesale marketing platform, which we use primarily for marketing purposes.

If you have ZERO feedback on Ebay, please call or email us to request our authority to bid on our vehicles. And, for you con-men and women out there, while you may think it's cute to create a user account and click the Buy It Now on a high dollar car you can't afford, note that we will track you down and we will recoup our costs for fraudulent bidding activity.
