Up for auction is a beautiful, COMPLETELY RESTORED 1970 SS 396 NOVA . This is a TOTALLY RESTORED, BIG BLOCK, NUMBERS MATCHING, VERY RARE NOVA. THIS IS A FACTORY BENCH SEAT, AUTO ON THE COLUMN, 396/350 HP, SS, 1970 NOVA. 1970 was the LAST YEAR FOR THE BIG BLOCK NOVA and GM went on strike mid year so this car is VERY RARE. So rare that it is one of the few cars that GM has NO PRODUCTION NUMBERS on!! THEY DON'T KNOW HOW MANY WERE BUILT. THIS IS A NO EXPENSE SPARED, FRAME OFF, NUT AND BOLT, ROTISSERIE RESTORATION. YOU WON'T FIND A NICER ONE ANYWHERE! The body is laser straight. This beautiful muscle car runs and drives as good as it looks! Power front disc brakes and power steering make this beauty a real pleasure to drive. IT DRIVES LIKE A NEW CAR. The car was a very nice solid car to start with with very minimal rust and nice interior. The main areas in question were the rear tail panel and rear wheel lips. This car did not warrant a "total restoration" but I like them perfect and you know what happens....we got carried away and almost a year later here you have it! ONE OF THE NICEST SS 396 70 NOVAS ON THE PLANET!! HERE ARE THE NUMBERS: The motor code is "T0406CTW" which translates to 396 CID. V8 350 HP. 11:1 compression ratio, 4 BBL carb and automatic TURBO HYDRO 400 transmission. The motor was built in the TONAWANDA PLANT ON APRIL 6TH. The motor "casting #" is 3969854. The motor casting date code is "A3070" which translates to Jan 30th 1970. We did not freshen up the motor or trans as it was already done by the previous owner and runs perfectly.The carburator, exhaust manifolds and wheels are even correct. The intake manifold, exhaust system and tires are not. The correct fuel filter and radio delete plate are on back order and will be installed when they arrive. I have a spare tire and wheel with the correct jack that was not in the car at the time the photos were taken, but they will be included in the sale. This car has a clear Florida title. The VIN # is 114270W332320 which means it was a GM built car, NOVA, 8 CLY, 2 DOOR NOTCHBACK PILLAR COUPE, YEAR 1970 built in the WILLOW RUN ASSEMBLY PLANT. The trim tag info is as follows: ST 70-11427 WRN 303616 BDY Trim 731 (black bench seat) Paint code 2828 (FATHOM BLUE) The build date code is 05A which translates to the car being built the 5th month, 1st week of May. The other code next to it is "1026" which means the car is NOT A STANDARD ISSUE ITEM according to the "CHEVROLET SERVICE NEWS" dated JAN 1970.THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SIMILAR TO ORDERING A COPO NOVA IN 1969.
