Best of Show Automotive is excited to present one of the most incredible 1966 Chevrolet Novas on the planet! This 8 year project, at a cost of more than $140,000.00, was a labor of love for the builder, who sadly passed away shortly before the car was completed. The finish work was completed by a good friend of the builder, and the result is jaw dropping!!! This is an ISCA level show car that was built to flat out perform as a show car and a ground pounding street machine! The build of this incredible machine is documented by more than 330 pages of receipts sorted by date and bound in a binder. The builder of this car must have been an engineer…he sure was organized!

Let's start out with the drive train on this incredible car and move on down the line. Present is a completely built 1966 327 engine with high end components everywhere you look. With features like a polished timing chain cover, custom oil pan, chrome alternator, billet pulleys, a Jet Hot coated Edelbrock manifold, twin Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel carburetors and Jet Hot Ceramic coated Hooker Headers, the engine compartment pops! Also present is a high flow polished aluminum radiator with a custom shroud, thermostatically controlled 3100cfm fans and a polished aluminum catch can which keep this red hot custom cool. We mentioned the Jet Hot Ceramic Coated headers, but this car is over the top! The following components have been Jet Hot coated and will never discolor or age: Front dust shields, rear dust shields, front spindles, front suspension stabilizer bar, gas filler neck, front suspension control arms, transmission crossmember, rear suspension stabilizer bar, four shock brackets, all shock bolts & nuts, steering shaft, steering knuckles rear shock springs and rear spindles. More than $8,000.00 was spent on Jet Hot Ceramic coating on this incredible car! The engine breathes through a custom stainless steel exhaust, manufactured at a cost of more than $3,000.00. The engine is mated to a brand new, polished 700R4 automatic transmission, connected to a Ford 9" axle via a brand new, polished aluminum driveshaft—if it could shine, it does shine!

Moving on to the suspension and underside, understand this Nova has more than $20,000.00 of custom fabrication work, with the receipts to back it up! The sub frame was smoothed and painted. The engine and transmission cross-members are completely custom fabricated pieces. The front end is a Fat Man Fabrication coil over system with struts and spindles from a 1992 Camaro. Power steering is accomplished by a modern rack & pinion system. A true four-link suspension was installed out back with a Wilwood four wheel disc brake system added for maximum stopping power. Every single piece of the undercarriage has been either painted, powder coated or Jet Hot Coated. The undercarriage is an absolute work of art, and was engineered for durability and performance. Every single fastener, nut and bolt on this Nova is high quality stainless steel or chrome. Billet Specialties wheels can be found at all four corners, 15x8 in the rear and 15x7's up front with four brand new B F Goodrich Radial T/A's mounted and ready to go. All wiring harnesses are premium 12 volt systems from American Autowire, and were expertly installed.

After the custom fabrication work was completed, the perfect body was painted at a cost of more than $18,000.00 in 1996 Nissan Cherry Pearl. The end result is flawless—no scratches, chips or blemishes are to be found anywhere. The paint is like glass and is ISCA show quality. This is a perfectly straight car, with perfect paint. The trunk is incredible, with a custom molded trunk insert and matching trunk lid insert. The appearance is classy and complete. An easily removable panel (2 seconds with one finger) hides the trunk-mounted battery and electric vacuum pump for the power brakes. Every single piece of tinted glass in this Nova is brand new and show quality. Every single piece of trim and bright work was done to a high standard, and is perfect, show quality. Every piece of chrome on the exterior of the Nova is blindingly perfect.

The interior in the Nova is incredible, done in imported Italian beige leather. The interior is tasteful and unique, with custom door panels, custom seats, custom console, custom dash, and custom molded package tray with speakers and wool carpeting. The B & M ratchet shifter looks like it's hiding, but there is no mistaking what it's there to do! The custom dash is incredible, with Auto Meter Pro-Comp Ultra Lite Gauges, including Tachometer, Speedometer, Fuel, Oil Pressure, Water Temperate and, Voltage Meter. Present is a very high end Sony AM/FM/CD player, with six Sony speakers, 4 up front & 2 in the rear. The system sounds incredible. A complete Vintage Air system is present, and operates flawlessly. Notice how the system is integrated into the custom dash, with factory appearing controls. This is creative engineering at its finest!

In summary, this car is a tour de force of high quality components, sound engineering and incredible attention to detail. If you were to try to duplicate it right now, figure $200K and 3-4 years. This Nova was built as a labor of love by someone who wanted to compete at the national ISCA level. Sadly, he never got the opportunity, but you can! Or, you can have one of finest custom street machines on the road.

Twist the key and the engine roars to life. Imagine the best sounding 327 you've ever heard … if you didn't know any better, you'd think it was a big block. Engage the transmission and off you go. Imagine responsive, comfortable, classy and nasty all mixed up into one Cherry Pearl coated package. Those words aptly describe this Nova to a T. This one NEEDS to be driven and it needs an owner who wants to blow everyone away when he pulls in at the local cruise night or at the Super Chevy Show.
