1963 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CROWN 4DR HARDTOP SURVIVOR LQQK For Sale
![]() This Chrysler Imperial muscle car for sale has been shown 1016 times.
American Classic Cars is offering this classic survivor, a 1963 luxury hardtop. The car left the factory with the famed 413 CID V8 engine, and the push button selected legendary TorqueFlite automatic 3-speed transmission with automatic park brake release. It has the beautifully designed factory gauge cluster with push button heat and AC controls. An attractive design feature, then very much in vogue, is the oval shaped padded steering wheel. Factory standard equipment included; six-way power front bench seat, AM radio with power antenna, map light, clock, remote mirrors, front and rear air conditioning, auto-pilot, power windows, power brakes, and power steering. Overall, the gloss black painted body on this car is good as a driver with no visible rust areas; however, evidence of a repair to the passenger side lower quarter panel can be seen where there's a few small cracks. The driver, passenger, and rear doors also show some paint blemishes. The bench seats were recovered at some time with teal blue vinyl. The original door panels, roof liner, and dash are in very good condition. The rubber weather stripping is showing its age and will need to be replaced. The chassis was undercoated at the factory and shows minor surface rust. The grille, chrome bumpers, trim and stainless are in very good condition, as well as the emblems, lenses, script and rocker trim. All the glass is good. Original steel rims with factory hubcaps round off this luxury Chrysler Crown Imperial offering smooth and peppy performance with convertible allure andhard top convenience. VIN# 92 33 183734, decodes as follows: 9 = Imperial V8 2 = Crown 3 = 1963 3 = Jefferson Plant 183734 = Factory sequence number. Factory specifications:
The Imperial along with the LeBaron were Chrysler’s top of the line luxury automobiles challenging and competing with the best the market was offering, including the Lincoln Continental’s, Cadillac Eldorado’s, Bentley’s and other fine makes. Tom Cahill, writing in Mechanix Illustrated quoted “the Imperial is the best sedan made in the world today. I have never driven a car that is so effortless to handle on long or short trips”. The car starts first time, runs strong but quiet, and handles the straightaway and curves, as you would expect a 1963 luxury car to respond. The suspension was factory tuned so the car floats gently as it rolls over each bump. These luxury highway cruisers were originally priced at $5,656.00, which made them very competitive for the period, however, only 6,960 Crown Imperials were made in 1963 making this survivor car a very rare find!! Like any auction anywhere, all vehicles are sold in "AS IS" condition. It would be an error to assume otherwise, either in my ads or anybody else’s ads run on eBay. However, for your peace-of-mind and comfort, extended warranty options are available on most vehicles at extra cost. Please be advised that any oral statements concerning any vehicle do not constitute a representation or warranty of the condition of said vehicle. If your personal inspection is not possible, we will be glad to help facilitate an inspection by your chosen local independent service center and will make arrangements to deliver the vehicle to them for this purpose at no charge. Our goal is to provide you with the best service and the most comfortable buying experience on eBay. While we are happy to show our customers the casting numbers, motor stampings and VIN numbers on any car, we cannot guarantee that any numbers, including the motor numbers are, in fact, the originals. There is always the possibility of re-stamped motors sometime in a vehicle’s past and as technology improves, there will be even more. Any representations made by American Classic Cars, Inc. are given to us by the previous owner and are passed on to you, the Buyer, “to the best or our knowledge.” They do not constitute a guarantee of any kind. You must understand that the entire risk as to the originality and condition of the vehicle is with you – the Buyer. In other words, if you get the vehicle and it breaks in half upon unloading, you own both halves. The vehicle mileage is represented “to the best of our knowledge as given by the previous owner” and is not guaranteed. Texas law dictates that any vehicle over 10 years old be sold “mileage exempt.” All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. We do not manufacture these vehicles. Each vehicle brand has its strengths, styles, tendencies, and shortcomings. Therefore, despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle's mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty any manufacturer’s workmanship or a previous owner’s diligence of care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold "AS IS" and there are no mechanical guarantees or warranties either expressed or implied. If these conditions are not comfortable for you, please don’t bid on this auction. |
