You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL 1951 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe Convertible in EXCEPTIONAL condition. 20 years ago it received a new paint job and had most all of its chrome replated. Then it was sold at auction to the previous owner.Where it saw little to no use especially over the last10 years where it was only used fordisplay in a finished garage. This is where we found it, rebuilt the brakes, added a power brake booster (see pictures), replaced the bias ply tires with new Coker Classic Wide White Wall Radial Tires (still less than 200 miles on them), replaced the fluids, removed, cleaned and reinstalledthe gas tankthen enjoyed using it to go to cruises and shows all summer long. Actual miles not known, speedometer reads 3340 and the car runs, drives and handles like the day it was new with its big 264.5 cu.in. SPITFIRE 6 Cylinder engine (larger than the 6 cylinders that Dodge and Plymouth used in the 50s). Plenty of power too, will cruise 55+mph with one handed driving no problems, no smoke and 60+ pounds of oil pressure. Nice and quiet too! It has the fluid drive automatic transmission with a clutch to shift from reverse to the two speed low or high. It is however missing the kick down switch on the carburator so unless you come to a complete stop you need to downshift manually. Otherwise it shifts automatically from low to high with no problems. I have been meaning to get another carburator but ithas never been a problem driving it, so it has not been an issue.Gas gauge can be intermitant in working and the clock and radio are notworking. Fog lights for show only (not hooked up). Lights, gauges, horn, wipers and heater all work fine. Glass all good.Power hydraulic top pump, lines and motor replaced 10 years ago as well as the top itself.A parade boot was just made for it locally that will need snaps installed to use (see picture). Look the pictures over closely, this caris in exceptional condition and not a rust bucket made to look good.No bondo or rust outs. The flooris in perfect condition with no repairs, same as the rocker panelswhich can been seen in the pictures. The paint is 20 years old so there are some issues with blemishes here and there. Most will not show up in the pictures. The only rust signs on the entire car are small blisters on the left side rear, just below the trunk (see picture) and a very small spot on the right rear below the trunk. The top of the door moldings are original and do not appear to have been removed for replating (see picture). Lastly, the driver's side front corner grill molding is not correct for the car. It looks good and most people never notice it but is does not sit flat against the fender. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. The reserve will not be given out and all offers must be in the form of bids. I am putting in a resonable"Buy it Now" price for those who always want one. But once the reserve is met the final sale price may exceed the"Buy it Now" offered which goes away when the reserve is met.Soact quick! This car is priced to sell. If the reserve is not met and we cannot negociate a sale with the highest bidder (via a second chance offer) then we will relist it. This is a rare car in even rarer condition that will increase in value every year.Last month a yellow 1951 Chrysler New Yoker Convertible sold for $39,000.00 on Ebay. If it was red it would have brought much more! Emails prefered but those who want to talk in person can call Bryan at (603) 355 0336. The car is available in Surry, NH to anyone who wants to come see it in person before bidding. New Hampshire does not title cars over 15 years. A bill of sale along with a copy of the current registration will allow buyer to title in their own state.
