Vehicle Description PHOTOS ARE BELOW THE CAR DESCRIPTION AND QUESTION AND ANSWERS. PROFESSIONAL VIDEO FOOTAGE AVAILABLE OF EVERY CAR DURING THE RESTORATION PROCESS SO YOU KNOW IT IS DONE RIGHT AND DOESN'T JUST LOOK GOOD!!! There arefive different cars we have built recently pictured below (some of them look the same). We build incredible Dukes of Hazzard General Lee cars that look exactly like the real ones...(t.v. show style or 2005 movie style... grills are all black in the 05 movie and t.v show replicas have the silver and black grills)in fact we are the ones that filmed, produced, and built the car for the documentary film "The Making of an Awesome General Lee."We are currently buildingthree General Lees. These photos are offive recently built exact replica General Lees that we recently sold (we also build and sell black Chargers, see my other ebay ads... the black Chargers with Torque Thrust 2 wheels sell for the same price). Our General Lees are the correct color, decal size and placement, correct wheels and pushbar, properly filled in sidemarker lamps and radio antenna and reverse lights, vinyl top trim removed as well as wheel wheel trim, etc... . Most importantly we build these cars correctly not like others that buildthem cheaper and without removing rust and filling in with tons of bondo ( wehave built alot of these cars and areNOT just hopping on the General Lee band wagon now to make a quick buck or using photos that aren't of cars we have built)... check out our feedback. Unlike alot of other builders, our cars get top of the line two stage paint jobs NOT single stage cheap paint jobs. You choose the starter car and it is photo documented the entire process so you know it is done right and you are a part of the whole building process. There is also a lengthy legalcontract detailing all the work that will be done to your car and protecting you. In fact you are welcome to visit during any part of the building. Feel free to inquire about General Lee options and prices. The buy it now price is for a 69 383 Charger. We are buildingseveral General Lees right nowand have a383 69 Charger for $33k base price and two 440's starting at $38k. 415 216 9206. It takes abouteight weeksto build your car (some are in the process of being restored and one car is almost done). We can build them in that time since we only start with very clean solid cars not raccoon infested rust buckets like other builders. Also, we have a team of about a dozenextremely experienced and specialized bodymen, painters, interior people, and mechanicsworking on the car not just a person building this car out of his garage with little experience. Beware of buying one of these cars from someone with little experience or buying a finished car where you have no idea what the car looked like to start with. If you want to buy a 68 or 69 Charger"as is" andyou do not want it repainted black or as a General Lee call us too. Keep in mind we can paint these cars any color and make them original looking as well or put hemi, or viper motors in them, etc... (hemi and viper motors do cost extra). Also, the cars are available with automatic or 4 speed transmissions (4 speeds are about $5k extra). The cars can be black, tan, blue, or white interior. Beware of people selling cars on ebay calling them R/T Chargers when they are not. If the vin number doesn't start with XS it is not a real R/T. If a seller won't give you the vin or the vin number starts with XP it is NOT an R/T and not worth anywhere near as much. Just because it has a couple R/T badges on it doesn't make it an R/T (anyone can buy those badges and put them on a car for about $75.00).I haveone real R/T Charger available. Also, if a seller doesn't say their car is a two stage paint job, chances are it is a single stage cheap paint job. All of my cars are always two stage (base coat, clear coat paint jobs... 3 or 4 coats of base coat then several coats of clearcoat not some cheap single stage job with just a coat or two of paint). My cars are also color sanded and buffed for a mirror like finish. These are the cars I have in for restoration that are not spoken for. They are available as they are right now as very nice cars or ever better as restored Chargers. 415 216 9206. Question & Answer Answered On Q: This would be my dream to own a 69 charger however I would like it to be just like the one in the movie Crazy Larry Dirty Mary The new charger is a joke, 4 doors.. never did like the challenger much either so if you would consider this let me know Thankyou. Apr-24-08 A: I can restore them however you want, I am currently doing a General Lee, an all original bronze R/T, a black 69 and 68, and a matte black NASCAR looking 500 plus hp 69. The new Charger is an embarrassment and a waste of money. Q: could u put in a rollbar like from the movie instead of the one like the tv show? Apr-23-08 A: sure no problem, it doesn't cost more money since it is alot more involved and you want to be sure about having a movie roll bar since it takes up a ton of space inside the car and can't be removed pretty easily like the tv rollbar. Q: Hello there,I have a question for you.I can't find the answer anywhere.Do you know what kind of air-horn the original Dixieland was from the series? What kind of compressor?Do you have one on any of your chargers?I thought it was Jubilee out of Omaha,Nebraska. But the sound wasn't the same. And the Wolo of today is to SLOW!Can u or ur watchers plz help me out?Thank you...Jim Apr-21-08 A: wolo 430 from jc whitney is the correct horn. you have to use larger wiring than the stuff they give you and then it should sound great!!! Q: Do you install rollbars in the general lees? Apr-15-08 A: Yes but only if requested, it really makes the back seat somewhat useless because of the top bar and the crossbar. Q: I am interested in a general lee hopefully sometime with in a year, what is the base price and I was wondering if I could get the dvd. thank you very much. Apr-15-08 A: they start around $35k, keep in mind the prices have been going up sharply for about 4 years in a row and of course my prices change based on my costs, last year I was selling the cars for about $7k less on average for base model Chargers but they took the biggest leap in prices this year... the recent sale of a 69 Charger for $500k probably helped. I am all out of dvds but feel free to check back in a week. Q: Hi, I don't have to tell you that you're building the absolute dream cars, do I? One day I'll place my order with you guys. Until then I would love to order a DVD. How much will be the DVD to be shipped to Germany? Thanks Oliver Apr-15-08 A: many thanks, but just like a woman hearing she is beautiful, you can never get too many compliments on these awesome cars!!! I am out of the dvds but try back in a couple of weeks. Q: Hi, I would just like to say HOLEY F@#* you have my dream job!! Been a Charger fan since...well forever! Unless you want to trade for a few kids and a wife I'm a few years away from getting my own! But I know where I will go when the time comes. Seriously you do awesome work and I hope you keep up with it. The General has got to be the icon of movie cars for sure, and in my opinion what ALL cars want to be when they grow up!! Thanks for letting me drool and dream Doug have a great day man. Apr-11-08 A: thanks for the compliments!!! It is definately enjoyable work but it is also very hard work getting the cars to look top notch. The best part is driving them and hearing the people go crazy when they see the General Lee!!! Question & Answer Q: Good job!!!!!!!!!! Steve A: thanks!!! Q: This is a dumb question. Do you provide the car, materials, and I supply the cash right? Or does the buyer provide the car and the buy it now is for the labor and materials? Thanks A: I provide the car, the materials to make it a General Lee and I make it a General Lee for you and you provide the payment for it. Q: Hi' Doug I'm considering purchasing a General Lee around April from you and am wondering if I can get a DVD to see how you make them, best regards,zm. A: sure, just email me your address Q: Hi, WOW Seriously cool cars !!! Can I ask a couple of questions :- 1. Can you build for Right Hand Drive (I Live in UK) 2. Can I get a 5 speed manual version 3. Are you able to ship engine and tranny seperatly ? This was I can import as spares and save on the import duty if so approx cost with a 440? Many THanks Ant. A: I can build it right handed if you wanted but it would not be cheap, and I can also make it 5 speed, and ship the engine and tranny seperate. Thanks for the compliments. I have shipped cars to the U.K before but every car I sent, I didn't change the steering to right hand drive so is it required? I thought classics were exempt. Q: hi there do you know how much it would cost to ship a general lee over to england. as thats were i live. many thanks andy. A: $2-4K depending on how fast you want it. Q: what kind of engine does it have? A: 383 or 440 motor. Q: Hi, i would love to buy one of your dvd's but you dont have any listed, will you be listing more soon? i have a General replica here in the UK im currently building and i thought taking a look at this dvd may help me out. Many thanks. A: I am not selling them on ebay right now since I am swamped building the real deal right now and it would be about a week before I shipped the dvd out. If you want to send $25.00 to paypal my account is doug@reninet.com. It will be shipped out within a week. Cool you have a General overseas... 2 of the Generals I am building right now are headed out to your neck of the woods. Q: Hi Doug,My name is Ed and in my early twenties,Iowned a REAL `69 ChargerR/T.It was a 440,auto,3:23 suregrip, yellow, with black vinyl top andblack int.Factory 8track,center consolecar.Along came marriage, kids house etc. sold mycar.Now,30 years later,I see your cars,(NICE),@Isee you have a real R/T S/E.Could you make it ~69yellow,(not sure if they called it Lemon Twist back then.I see yours has the black vinyl roof.Does it have the black bucket seat center console? My old one had Cragar s/s wheels with L-60`s in the rear (8 1/2x14`s) w/f60`s up front. Can`t remember if it had power brakes, but do know they were 4 wheel drums, no discs. Now for the 200 dollar question.Could you build your R/T,(the green one in the pics), like that for me ???? I definitely would want an upgrade to disc brakes.I remember how hard it was to haul it down from 140 plus back then with 4 wheel drum brakes!!!!! Also, when you do you paint, do you do engine bay trunk etc. Thanks, no.1dodge A: I could paint it whatever color you want, but it would have to be soon as the car goes to paint in a day or two, it doesn't have the vinyl top anymore but could be put back for a little extra cost. Yeah I highly recommend disc brakes if you are going to race this car... the factory ones on Chargers don't stop very well when you're doing 140 plus!!! I just bought a 69 from a guy that was the original owner and bought it when he was in his mid twenties... a garage kept all original car that I had commited to selling to a guy that gave a deposit on it before I saw it and boy did he score!!! Same seller has an all original 70 Cuda that I am trying to get now. Q: HELLO IN FIRST APPLAUS FOR YOU JOB I AM INTERESSED BY A CHARGER 68 440/727 AUTOMATIC BLACK OUTSIDE AND BLACK OR RED INSIDE AND I WANT TO NOW IF IT S POSSIBLE TO HAVE TORQUE WHELLS IN 18' AND IF YOU HAVE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION I WANT THE COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM FREE FOR GOOD SOUND TELL ME THE PRICE IF YOU CAN THANKS FOR ALL AND GO ON A: A car like that would be in the low $40k range. I don't know if they make the Torque wheels I normally use in an 18' wheel but I can check. Let me know what sort air ride suspension you would like. If you want the car open headers that is fine by me... also serves as a good alarm system if someone tries to steal it!!! Q: Hi there. For the record ive checked the other ebay dodge chargers and yours buy far look the best. I have been waiting for this day for a long time now i can finally get the car ive always wanted. I honestly dont care what kind of dodge charger you use. I dont need numbers matching or certain model type im going for look. 1969 dodge charger general lee. Like the one made for the new movie. Ive got about 45000 to spend. I want a hemi with a 4 speed. Black interior. Also i live in iowa and i see your in california do you make the cars with california emissions because we have no emissions in iowa. I am interested in seeing on how you make them and i thought i read up on you having a dvd of some sort. You have alot of information in your ebay page. How long does it take you to make a car. If i sent you a 10000 dollar down payment could i get my car buy summer. Ive always wanted to travel on old route66 so since ill have the car i might as well drive back. Let me Know. Ben A: I'm sure we can work out a deal Ben and thanks for the compliments. I pride myself in being very straight forward and honest about these cars and put everything in writing so everyone is happy in the end. You are always welcome to see the car being built as well. I know of a very clean 318 69 Charger that I'm sure would love to have a Hemi with a 4 speed put in it. Please give me a call and we can go from there since I do require a down payment to start, especially since Hemi motors and 4 speeds aren't cheap. take care, Doug 415 216 9206. ps: I've driven that old route 66 several times since I am originally from Texas and most of my relatives still live down there. Also, any car older than 73 doesn't need any emission controls in CA. Q: Hello, Looks like you guys do outstanding work. How would I go about getting one of your DVDs? Thanks, Dave A: send me your mailing address and I'll send one to you. thanks, Doug Q: Hey doug I live in Louisiana. I already have a 69 charger. My cousin and I started to restore it. We have already removed the engine, trans.,all window glass, and all interior components. I have already purchased floor pans, trunk pans, and rear quater panels. My question to you is how much would it cost to get this car to you have it restored to a general including the rebuilding of the motor and trans. and get it back to me. Thanks for your time, Colby. A: please call me for a quote as it varies depending on a number of variables... 415 216 9206 Q: hi im adrian from the UK your cars look awsome, wanted to know if you could supply a 383 or preferbly a440 auto that just needed body and paint and you do any other work needed as i would like to paint car myself also on a budget,if not could i get a nice car for 30k max? I have to sell my pontiac first! Thanks very much A: I could definately sell you a Charger without the paint and body work done. Feel free to call or email me as I have a strong running very sweet 383 69 center consol car right now that I could sell you for a really good deal. Even has the original build sheet!!! Let me know as soon as possible. Q: hi there billybob here, greetings from seattle! hey so when is a good time to come and visit, and take a peek at your operation? i would llike to take a peek around before getting mine. i have a doge rumble bee, and i am thinking a tire burning squealing general lee will look mighty nice next it! A: just call aday or two ahead and you're welcome to come see the cars being built (we have 3 being made into Generals right : Hello, I am interested in buying a general lee, Maybe a 440 with a tan interior and a floor shifter what are the different options u offer for a general lee, Thanks A: anything you can think of we offer. feel free to call for details 415 216 9206. Q: How about stepping it up a notch and offer a "Fast and the Furious" supercharged model! A: if someone wants one I will build it!!! Q: george here from Pennsylvania, to make a long story short a friend of mind turned his 69 se r/t into a race car and raced it for several yrs.gutted it .when he finished racing I purchased it and started finding all oringinal parts to put it back together . 3 hard yrs to do that it was oringinally a silverish silver green..I painted it Black ...was it sharp.(1984) this was done .Swore I'd never get rid of it . Then BAM I was rear ended by a dump truck.Totaled.I currently own a oringinal 1964 convertible corvette that Im going to sell and have you build me a 69 se r/t with 440 ,727 .I would like to have a #'s matching one..Can you help me out...very serious here ..could you send me an DVD? Thanks for your time...George A: Good thing you were okay!!! I had a 280 ZX slam into the front end of my 77 Trans Am in high school as I pulled out into an intersection and he was going about 120 mph when he clipped my front end and it looked like a 18 wheeler hit it but I was okay. Just send me your address and I'll get you a dvd out next week when I return. The R/T SE I have right now is a matching number motor but not a transmission. If that doesn't work I will keep looking and let you know when I get one in. Did you want it black again? Q: I live in Georgia. Summers are very hot here. Do your Generals have A/C?? If not can it be installed. Thanks ~~I think I found my builder. A: Last year most of my Generals had A/C in them so if you want one with it, then it's no problem to get one with it. If it doesn't have A/C to start then it can be put in but in is usually more cost effective to start with a car that already has it in from the factory since the dash has to be changed as well which adds up fast. Q: what would be the estimated cost to build one with a viper engine and trans ? A: The General Lee would be around $30k plus my cost for the viper engine and tranny costs (I sell the engine and tranny to you at my cost with no mark up). Q: dougy have just watch your dvd on the making of the mighty general and mate was fantastic people do yourself a favour and inspect this dvd for yourself absolutly flawless and dougy may 2008 cant come quick enough cheers aussie steve!!!!! A: Glad you enjoyed it!!! Wait till you have you General Lee in Australia, you won't believe the excitement when people see it!!! Especially when you hit the 12 note Dixie horn!!! Q: Straight up question, how much to build a general with a 383 mag, and a four speed trans, tan gut. PLus any other extras you can recomend.Maybe power windows or locks, power steering and power disc brakes No matter what I look at, I keep coming back to your cars, Is it a pay as you go,or do ask for everything up fron? A: It would be around $38k (a few grand more than normal since it is a 4 speed and likely to need alot of newer interior parts since tan interior cars are only found about 1 in 12 cars and often need alot of replacement parts since tan is usually more worn out looking than black). My cars are usually around $33k and then you get charged my cost for any extras beyond that for parts and my labor cost ($20-40hr depending on the work such as front disc brakes). I generally ask for alarge deposit to start building your car and the rest when it is done. Most importantly, you don't pay anything until we find a car that you approve of first. Everything is written down on a legal binding contract as to what will be done on the car as well as you have photos of the process emailed to you all the time as the work progresses and you are always welcome to come by anytime. Keep in mind are cars are fixed correctly and not cheap ass painted over rust buckets like other peoples cars. We make thousands less on these cars than others but the cars are done right and we are proud of them and most of all you will be too!!! Q: Hi there I was wondering if you have a grill for a 1970 charger or know were I could get one. Thanks For Your Time. PS Nice Cars. A: I would keep checking ebay, herb's parts, or autobody specialties. Sorry but I don't have that part... go tons of 68 and 69 parts but don't really deal with 70 Chargers much... but they are sweet cars... especially that one on Fast and the Furious (too bad they wrecked it... should have crashed the cheesy little import instead). Thanks for the compliment. Q: would you build a 1969 charger daytona with a 440 auto transmission, also do you build mustangs i am looking to get a 1970 fastback 429 boss clone grabber blue and white interior. i would really like to know if you build mustangs i really love mustangs and it has been a dream to own a 1970 boss 429 or a clone.thanks for your time and god bless you A: I build all sorts of muscle cars and could definately do a Mustang or the Daytona. Q: Hi there. I'm glad you are an American supporter! I hate imports too!! Do you build Charger Daytona replicas? I would be very interested, since the real ones are out of most peoples price range all of a sudden! Thanks. Jim A: Even if you spent $250k on an import it still wouldn't sound as good or look as good as even a primered beat up $15k big block Charger!!! And yes I do build Daytona Chargers... the KING OF KINGS FOR SURE!!! Q: How much to build a 1969 black Dodge charger, 383 automatic, 15" vector wheels 7" on the front, 8.5" on back, and delivery to Canada? A: $34k for the car plus delivery charges which are about $2-3k. Q: Ok, I am seriously considering buying one of these hot rods but its going to be a few months before I can even make a step besides asking about it. I read some questions and you said you may be able to make payments on them. About how much would it be, and they are monthly payments right? Well thanks, and could I possibly get a dvd to keep my interest? Well thanks again, great work by the way. A: Thanks for the compliments. I generally require about alarge deposit to start to build one. As far as making payments on one you'd have to pay at least half down and I keep the car until it is all paid off... but I maybe getting a financial instituition that will approve loans on these cars if I can get the time to deal with setting it up. If you want a dvd email me your mailing address. Feel free to call for further details. Q: I have been looking for a car for my son to restore himself as he is almost 14 and The Dukes of Hazzard is all he has been talking about for the past few years now. When I saw this I thought wow this would make a great gift for his 16th birthday 2 years away, but good to know. If we are ever out in Ca. which may happen next year maybe we can see a car you are working on at that time and then talk about one for him. Do you have a shop set up or is this just something you do for fun in your garage? I would want to get my son a car as similar as I can get it to the original General Lee can you do that and how much would it cost engine, horn etc...? I will definately be calling you closer to the time so I can suprise him with it. Nancy Jean Nebel from Warwick, NY A: Your son will be super excited for sure!!! Feel free to come see one being built anytime, just call with a few days notice to make sure I'm in town. These cars are made exactly like the any of the several versions of real ones from the tv show and movies (there are small differences between ones used early in the tv show vs ones used later and then the recent movie cars had slightly different things also such as the lettering on the car and a different style pushbar... we discuss this with you and build them the way you want). The cars start at $33000 and go up from there depending on options. If you son is anything like me at 16 then you may want to have a car that is not going to smoke the tires all the way down the block since the laws on that sort of thing have changed dramatically since I was a kid (in CA they will impound your car, license, and give you a huge fine... I still do it I just make sure not to get caught!!!). Also, for safety, if you do decide to get him a car with a big motor, you may want it to be pretty stock until he gets the hang of driving it then sup it up later. I'd be counting down the days till I turn 16 if you were my mom!!! Q: Hey mate, how much do you think shipping to New Zealand would be (and would you take care of that)? A: Shipping to New Zealand would be $2-4k depending on how fast you want it. I don't pay for shipping but can help arrange it. Q: I have a very rough 69 charger with a 440/auto, could I send you som pics and see what you think. I need to know if it is worth doing, and what you think you would charge me fior doing the work-Thanks a lot, you do awesome work!! A: feel free to send me photos. if you supply the car I can still do the work!!! Q: How much would it cost to build a charger just like Dom's off 'The Fast and The Furious'?? A: 34500 without out the blower on the engine. with the blower on the engine and the engine built to handle it and the tranny and rear end to support it... $55-75K. Q: Are these available with a hemi & automatic tranny combination? Thanks! A: yes definately, and they'll lay rubber all the way down the block!!! Q: I was wondering if you could get a rough estimate for a 67-69 camaro (manual transmission), or a 69-74 charger (manual transmission). How much would it cost for just the body alone, no engine. Also would it be possible to upgrade the transmission from a 4 speed to a 5 or 6 speed? A: I usually don't sell them without the engine since any car without an engine tends to usually be a raccoon infested rust bucket but call me and we can work something out. I can put any tranny you want in it. Q: i am very interested in buying one of your chargers. i was wondering if they do come in an automatic shift A: Yes they do come in auto shift. In fact, the 4 speeds are quite rare and usually sell for about $5k more on average so what you want is cheaper and much easier to find. I haveseveral automatics I am building right now. Ask seller a question Q: hey so thank for the answer and i wass wondering do you sell it whit a Hemi engine?? A: I sell the cars with whatever engine you want from a factory 318, 383, 440, or a hemi of any size. Obviously, the hemi costs additional money. Q: I really likes the 69' charger just want to know do you sell it whithout the engin??, it is possible how much could be the price of a R/T charger in red??...please escuse my english im from Puerto Rico and really interet to know thank A: I don't generally sell them without an engine but if you wanted one without an engine I guess I would but it would still be the same price. A red R/T would cost about $35-45k with the motor. Q: Hi, Do you have anymore of those making-of Charger DVD copies for sale? Thanks! A: yes, check on my other items for sale on ebay or you can send $25.00 to paypal... my account is doug@reninet.com. thanks, Doug Q: Hello, Do you just built the General Lee and the black ones or would you offer other colors? Thanks, M.T. MOORE A: I do Chargers in any color you'd like... black and General Lees are just the most requested. Q: Can I get one with the blond in it ;). Seriously, hats off to you. Your car looks great (blond looks better). A: If I could sell the blondes with em I would already be retired from all the sales!!! thanks!!! Q: Hi.great looking chargers would like to know if you can build a 69 ss camaro. A: I can build whatever car you want so long as it is an American muscle car and not some cheesy "Fast and the Furious" Toyota or Honda... by the way you have great taste in muscle cars!!! Q: Ok, thanks for thefast reply, I'm selling my 69 camaro convertible, when this is behind me, I will call you immediately! greets, Nico A: Sounds great!!! Look forward to working with you. That is one sweet car you have right now... a tough act to follow that not many cars can but a 440 General Lee can!!! My personal Charger is an all original numbers matching 440 R/T. I had a convertible and on a nice warm summer day I miss my 71 SS convertible Chevelle that I sold years ago and it makes me wish I had a convertible muscle car again. I think this next summer I may have to get one if I can find a fixer for a good deal. There is an all original 67 RS SS convertible Camaro sitting under a weathered tarp this guy has that was factory black but he won't part with yet... maybe someday!!! Q: I'm a little confused how this would work if I wanted you to build one. Do you build them and then list them or do you build them as ordered.I would definitly be interested, but very sceptical with all the negative things going on with e-bay. Do you have any pictures of ones that you have sold? A: I totally understand. There are 4 different cars that I have sold on the posted pics right now... Feel free to call me and I can give you all the info to cool your rightful feelings. If you order a car from me it is at a set price (usually lower than what I'd get on an ebay auction) and you get to choose the starter car before you ever pay a deposit... from there the whole process is documented every step of the way so you know its done right and not some bondo piece of crap like other people build (check my perfect feedback). Feel free to call anytime 415 2169206... I make a modest profit on each car and then I charge you my cost for any extra goodies!!! Q: I really like the 69 dodge chargers, do you work with people making payments and finanicing the chargers? A: yes from time to time depending on the situation... as long as you're a good honest person like me, we can almost always do a deal!!! Q: hi mate its good to know that you are building these as i want one desperately but i will have to wait until may2008 to buy one, so i would love to watch your dvd on the making of these cars until then so i have something to look forward too.could you send me detailsn on how to purchase dvd. thanks mate. aussie steve!!!!! CONTACT ME A: got a sweet 440 real R/T that I can make into a General Lee. Call me at 415 216 9206. Q: Hello, I am Italian, I would like to buy a dodge charger ( "general lee" identical to the one on the picture), with engine 440 or 383 manual (there is so much difference in price from automatic or manual?), I can also come in the states united to take, but how much do as a charger that? excuse for the language but do not speak English A: A General Lee like the one pictured with a 4 speed is costs $38k for a 4 speed 383 or $43k for a 4 speed 440. Q: I was wondering how much it would cost to add a 426 Hemi to your General Lee? A: It depends on how tricked out you want the motor but it would be $14k on up. Q: hey name is shane writing from montana, just a couple questions, when you build cars do you take payments well im a huge dukes fan i would love to buy one somehow i just dont have the money that way and i have a 68 charger im starting to restore which it needs total resto cause love to try to work something out and i love your generall for sale its a beauty please let me know thanks shane. A: I might consider taking payments with a large down payment but it would have to be short term and I keep the car till it is paid off. Q: Hi There, could you tell me how much you would charge to build a replica 1969 Charger R/T with a 526 HEMI General Lee. I'm after a nice running, clean car - basically a show car. I live in Australia, so could you please quote for shipping also. Thanks! A: It depends on several things... first off do you want a real R/T Charger or a replica R/T Charger. The price would be $55-80k depending if it is a real R/T, how chromed out you want the motor, posi rear end, 4 speed or automatic (the transmission would have to be modified to handle the motor), all new interior or restored original interior, stock or custom gauges, everything you can see detailed and painted such as every part underneath painted black or painted the body color and all the dozens of parts painted their individual proper color, etc... Shipping to Australia runs $3-5k depending on how fast you want the car. Feel free to call me at 415 216 9206. Q: do you prefer original 14" or new 15" vector wheels? 7" on all four, or 8.5 on rears? thanks! -Ross A: I prefer the old vector wheels hands down. The new ones have shiny edges and are not deep dish. I like 7 on all four or 8.5 on rears either looks cool. I will put whatever someone wants on a car. Q: hi nice cars. how much to build me a charger like these and ship to england regards stewart A: The Chargers I build start around $33000 and go up from there... shipping to England runs $1500-$3000 depending on fast you want it. Q: Hi, i am looking for a very nice 1968 Charger R/T Clone with 383 or 440/ automatic or 4-speed. it has to be Tripple black with Bucket seats and console shifter. Please let me know if you have something. Not more than $30,000.00 Thank's for Reply Thomas A: I'll let you know when I get the next one in. I have a lead on a 68 383 right now. Check back with me next week. thanks, Doug Q: Is this car being built with a single 4 barrel or three 2 barrel carbs? Thanks A: a single 4 barrel unless someone special orders it from me with the 3 two barrel carbs then I will do it that way. Q: I have been bidding on a couple of your Chargers this year but have yet to get one. Can you build me one preferably a 383 automatic and black. I would like to know more about your build details but the pictures are great! What would be a ball park price for this? E-mail me back. Thanks, Bob from Illinois. A: thanks for bidding... the cars start at $33000 and go up from there. most of the cars I do actually never end up on ebay or sell before the end of the auction. The best way to proceed is for us to work together on getting you a car and then me redoing it for you the way you like. They generally run about $33k for what you want. I prefer to sell directly with a fixed price and work with a buyer communicating daily by phone and email with tons of pics along the way, till the car is done just the way you want. Feel free to call me at 415 216 9206. take care, Doug Q: Hello im very interested in the car i would like to come out and see it can you give me directions, today would be the only day i can come out and see it thank you A: YOU CAN SEE IT ANY TIME CALL ME AT 415 216 9206. Q: Hi , I purchased a 69 General Lee over the internet earlier this year, from another company in the US, it is a 440 4 speed car as i asked for BUT the condition of the car under the new, bad paint job is pretty rough, no guages work, its motor was supposed to be recond but i think re painted is about it, anyway, im looking for a good one, i have a buyer for mine, i hope you are the person i am looking for, i can arrange my own shipping out of Longbeach, can you give me some more info on the finished car in regard to its quality, thanks Paul A: Hey Paul, I can build you an incredible General Lee and document it from start to finish so you feel comfortable with everything. There are some real shady businesses building General Lee's and some really good ones. When I build a car for someone I always keep you posted of the daily process, and most importantly I do not start on a car unless you approve of the starter car... that way we are on the same page right out of the starting gate (I've never had anyone not approve of the starter car since I choose the cars wisely and most importantly I listen to your requests since it is all about you... not me). I take every order for a car very seriously and want you 1000% happy. Feel free to call me at 415 216 9206. take care, Doug Q: can you paint this car black with purple and red metal flake so it will change from black to purple or red depending on the light A: I can paint it any color possible in the world. by the way, killer painting ideas!!! Q: Love your chargers. Just want to get your email for when I can afford to get one. If I told you exactly what I want, can you build it? thanks Scott A: best way to get ahold of me is calling 415 216 9206. Q: hi. my name is michael from perth, western australia. I have been searching for a dodge charger 69. I would love to have one in the same condition as the black one. I want to try to cut costs down by having a standard charger made, not a R/T . could you please help me in what my options are. thank you. A: I build them at all different prices but they usually start at $33k for an automatic non R/T 318 or 383 car and go up. Q: Can I come over and look at the car? A: sure as long as you have the financial ability to buy it, just give me a call at 415 216 9206... one ride in these sweet cars and you'll be hooked!!! Q: i have been a fan of the show since it began to air . looked on line for the past 2 years for a car that was affordable and built correctly not a primed and painted rust bucket with 200lbs of bondo. can u build a car like that for someone ? if so send me some prices. A: I could definately build you an awesome General Lee. Mine are not bondo buckets... and neither are my other color Chargers. There are alot of junk General Lees out there that people build out of rust bucket cars but mine are clean cars to start with and if they have a little rust then it is cut out where possible and if it can't be cut out it is treated with a rust stop product but I don't start with cars if they are not very clean bodies. The price for a General Lee is between $33-$45k on average depending on engine size, R/T or not, 4 speed or automatic, etc... I can build the cars exactly like the show or kind of like the show but leaving sidemarker, reverse lights, and radio antenna intack. I also build General Lees out of peoples Chargers they already own which cost between $12-20k on average. Feel to to call me for a free dvd about us building a General Lee. 415 216 9206. . Q: Hello I'm Roby I'm Italian I wanted makes you COMPLIMENTS for Cherger ' 69 from you restored. Creed that the Charger is the beautifulst machine constructed American... my dream is to be able to buy it in future!!! Hello and excuse my English but I am using a translator in Internet... A: THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!!! I AGREE 69 CHARGERS ARE THE BEST, 68'S ARE SWEET TOO, AND A 70 SS 454 CHEVELLE WOULD HAVE TO BE PUT ON MY FAVORITE LIST AS WELL. Q: what do yo want for the 69 383 4 speed car an is it a counsle car A: I am asking $38k but will look at all offers. I should be listing it on ebay in a day or two... waiting for a few minor things to finish it up. Q: do you have the movie for sale? A: yes they are free if you interested in having a car built or $25.00 if you just want the dvd. just send $25.00 to my paypal account which is doug@reninet.com. thanks, Doug Q: Hi there from the UK. Where can i get my hands on a copy of your DVD please? It looks great! Thanks. A: I can send you a copy of the dvd for free if you are interested in buying a car. If you are just wanting a dvd and not interested in buying a car then I ask for a $25.00 donation that can be sent to my paypal account. I realize this is on the honor system as to whether or not you are going to buy a car or not but that's how I do business. Just email me your mailing address and I will give you my paypal account info. Feel free to check my other items for sale on ebay and I may start listing my dvds for sale again since alot of people are requesting them now. The dvd is a great dvd and is about an hour long. I wanted the burnout footage to be better on it but on the last day of filming I made the mistake of sliding sideways and smokin the tires down the street in front of a cop as I was grinding through the gears havin a good ol time!!! Needless to say the cop was not amused and gave me 4 tickets and confiscated that days filming so I had to use other footage of the stunts that weren't as good but the whole building of the car from start to finish came out great. Thankfully, when I went to court over the tickets, the judge was out of town and 4 young female law students were preciding over all the cases that day and they dismissed all of the tickets except one!!! I would have gotten off all of them but as always, there was one mother hen law student that insisted I be punished by having at least one ticket. The dvd goes in depth about how to build a General Lee from start to finish. I really enjoy building them for people and also can help you build your own if you'd like and will tell you how to do it and where to get the parts if you'd like. Feel free to call anytime. Q: Hi Doug, I am interested in working with you on quoting out a 1969 Charger R/T clone, all stock with a 526 HEMI. If you could give me a ballpark I would appreciate it. C A: $45-60K FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AT 415 216 9206. Q: First off AWESOME cars!!! You may have run across this, but I have never seen it done. I thought about how you could have the doors look operational, ie. door handles etc., but have the electric release like the custom cars with the shaved door handles, it would make people think they are welded like original. Just keep in mind, cause if you are still in business when I have the money, it will be one of my request. THANKS!!! A: really good idea!!! Q: Hello, this is Costas from Athens Greece. I'm checking on chargers (General Lees) quite often, and it is great to find someone responsible that builds them, like you. I used to own a 69 Camaro, sold it and now I own a 66 Mustang Convertible. I want to build a General Lee with you, but can afford it right now, but I will in about a year or so. Can you please send me a dvd with you building a general lee? I will pay for it. Thank you, Costas. A: I would be happy to send you a dvd but I just need your address. The cost is $25.00 just send it to my paypal account at doug@reninet.com. Q: hello i have a 69 charger but it needs to be redone from ground up its just a shell but it does have the right wheels and tires and i do have the decals also and antena the car is all their but engine and trans what would it cost to get it made in to a general just stock 383 auto it is on the colum now but needs to be on floor thank you for your time A: no problem, but give me a call so I can ask you a bunch of questions since I need to know the condition of the body. If the body is in decent shape then it is much more cost effective to build a General Lee then starting with a raccoon infested rust/bondo bucket. Putting in a new engine and trans, interior, electrical, and some body work like new quarters is no problem. Dealing with a rotted out frame is always better to past on and start with a clean body (any car I build for someone is always a very clean car to start with unless you speciafically give me a project that you want me to restore). Call me and I'll give you a price quote. 415 216 9206. |
