Engine

Under the hood is a completely rebuilt numbers matching 375 horse power HP2 which was just rebuilt (Dec 07)by a highly reputable machine shop. The block was boiledand cleaned, bored .30 over, honed, decked, new cam bearings, freeze plugs installed, freshly ground crank, and also reconditioned and aligned rods.

The rebuild included new Sealed Power Master Kit with NEW pistons, rings & bearings that retained the healthy stock compression ratio at about 10:1. A Cloyes Street True Roller timing chain keeps the NEW Mopar Performance purple shaft cam and lifters humming along. It is a mild hydraulic cam with 280duration and .474 lift perfectly suited for street/light comp performance. Head work included all new stainless steel Manley intake and exhaust valves, new guides, new HD springs, 3 angle grind, etc. Original HD 26 inch radiator was re-cored, new alternator, fuel pump, new Edelbrock750 carb(factory 4816 S carb not installed but included), new belts & hoses.

This engine has a very nice idle, but not radical, sounds great and most importantly it runs very strong and will provide the new owner years of enjoyment.

Transmission

Original numbers matching 727 automatic on the floor was completely worked over with all new seals, bearings, new hemi torque converter, etc. A mild shift kit was installed to complement the drive train arrangement and give you firm clean shifts without snapping your neck.

Driveline and Rear Differential

The Original Sure Grip 489 case equipped with a 3.23 gear ratio makes this car highway friendly, still quick to respond when mashing the pedal, yet capable of long road trips if desired. The unit was removed, cleaned and tested and reinstalled with all new U joints.

Suspension, Tires and Wheels

Complete new poly front suspension from PST, including all upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, upper and lower control arm bushing, bump stops, idler arm, pitman arm, strut bushings, brake lines, rebuilt factory steering gear box, new PS pump and hoses, new shocks front and rear, and new rear leaf spring bushings. New BG Goodrich tires are mounted on Chrysler Magnum 500 road wheels.

Interior

This car features the R/T interior group with wood grain dash and door panel accents. Everything works from the gauges, to the 3 speed wipers, to the windshield pump, to the horn, to the AM radio.

Interior is in very good shape, although again, not show quality. Front and rear seats have been recovered, new carpet installed. Everything is there and working including all instrument lights, fan, heater, glove box lights, etc. No rips or tears. No missing pieces. Dash pad has 2 small cracks which can either be recovered or a pad put on it to be perfect.

Body and Paint

The body on this car is super straight with no signs of accidents or abuse. The paint is the only thing holding this car back from being an award winning show car. The car was painted about 3 years ago and such hasa couple of scratches, and minor defects visible from over 10 yards away. There are no rust bubblesor signs of rust anywhere on the exterior. There is some normal light surface rust in the trunk which was painted over and still appears fine but not perfectly smooth. There is a patch panel in the LH rear trunk extension (lower inside) quarter. All the floors and trunk are rock solid.

The rear bumper is freshly re-chromed and the front bumper is the original and could use re-chroming to be perfect. All interior and exterior lights and turn signals function. A new gas tank was installedby the previous owner. when the body and paint were done.

Summary

As stated above, it is not a show car however this car drives out super nice and is one of the best driving B Bodies I have owned. It is a super nice example of a genuine 1969 L Code Coronet R/T anywhere that you can actually drive.

From the original numbers matching engine, transmission, rear axle to the interior and everything in between, this car is nothing less than a phenomenal driver with everything fully sorted and in working order.

As well, this particular Coronet is a lifelong Texas/Arizona car and true to form retains all of its original Fender Tag, Driveline VIN stamping, Broadcast Sheet and the all important radiator support stamp.
