1961 61 Dodge Dart -Hard to Find- Flames Hot Rat Rod For Sale
![]() This Dodge Dart muscle car for sale has been shown 2299 times.
This auction is for my prized 1961 Dodge. I tell you what I was told when I bought it then I'll get into details. I bought the car 3 years ago and was told it came out from Ca. It had a restoration in 2001. I don't believe this to be frame off but the frame is excellent condition. Dirty but no rust or evidence of damage. Car does not burn any oil. When I bought the car it was pretty much stone stock. I took it gave it lot's of love and hot rodded it up a bit. It has NO POSTS !! Any and all stickers/magnets are easily removed and I will do that for you if you like.Seat belts are installed for front seat and on right side of rear. That's where you see my daughter's car seat buckled in. Odometer reads 35,600 but I believe this to be 135,000. The car has a 318 ci Poly engine. The wide block one. Produces approx 230hp. Dual exhaust with Cherry Bombs installed. Sounds really good. I had electronic ignition installed when I bought it. 2bbl carb (Needs re-build. I have a replacement that needs cleaning. I have a gasket as well. I will include both in sale. Car runs great but that was the next thing I was going to do). Optional cast iron Torque Flight 3 speed auto trans. Push button by the way. NEW PARTS LIST IN THE 3 YEARS I'VE OWNED IT. I've only put less than 7k on it...shocks (front and rear), full tint all around, drag link (VERY difficult to find. Steering is great now), all six wheel cylinders replaced, brake shoes, master cylinder, upper control arm bushings, hi-cap fuel pump, alternator, trunk weather stripping (under and around stripping is white primer. I sanded and primered where the old stripping was. I did it white until I could finish painting it. Is not visible when trunk is closed. And does not look bad when opened.), battery hold down set. The car runs and handles great and sounds great. I drive it to shows all the time. It's a driver. My family and I take trips all the time. OPTIONS..Sky View rear window with 1/2 factory tint, dual antenna's, trunk mounted tail lights (These were actually not an option but they did not come with the car. They were dealer added by request at no charge to make up for the lack of bright tail lights),Split bench with optional sport back driver seat. (seat has seam split across it. See picture. Easily fixed), seat belts, 3 speed auto Torque Flight trans, foot pedal operated wipers. (Wipers will work but have been removed) Fender skirts, back up lights, driver remote mirror. Wheels are cool. They are 15'' 5 lug wire rims. Could use a dip and a solid cleaning. Gangster white wall tires still have mileage on them. Right front does have a split in the whitewall but tire is fine. You really don't notice it. The color I was told is a stock color with flake added. Custom it is. In sunlight it goes off. Very very cool. The flames are House of Kolors white with black pearl flake added. Kind of ghost kind of not. They really jump off the hood. Picture's do not do the job justice. Flames are on the hood, fenders, doors and ROOF !. These are not cookie cutter flames. Each section is done different than the other. Very custom look. Over all this is a great car. I would drive it anywhere. The interior was like new when I bought it and from use the front drivers seat split at the seam. The cardboard covered headliner is in great condition but needs to be re-seated. All there and looks good just needs adjustment. The interior over all is very good. No rips in the seats or stains anywhere. Pretty much how I got it. See through speedo is cool. Glows green at night when lit. FYI, speedo will work if you bang on it a bit after you hit 30mph. I think the needle may have bent a bit and it hangs up. Volts gauge works, fuel works. Temp does not. I have a 3 gauge set that was going in there to add to all of that. I will include that in sale. The car takes awards. Mostly Peoples Choice because nobody has ever seen one. And when they find out it's a Dart they freak. I have been doing shows in this area for a very long time and I have never seen one. 99% of the people that come up to me at the shows have never seen one. In fact, I cannot remember 1 single person who told me they ever saw a car like this. 4 door yes but not 2 door like this. If you want Cruising attention this is the car. I will continue to update this auction as I think of things. I have a lot more pictures and if you want something specific I will shoot it and send it to you.
