"REAL DART SPORT 340" Since the Dart was appraised in 2008 for $45,000.00 & is currently insured for that amount - I've decided that $30,000.00 in today's economy is a fair estimation * Thankfully I have a good business - food on the table & I'm not losing my house in these hard times * My prayers are always with the less fortunate. That being said - please allow me to continue - thank you. Let me start with the basic Dart itself * It's a real "H" code 340 - 1973 being the last year Ma Mopar installed them in her vehicles * Only 11,315 Dart Sport 340 were produced in 1973 & it is said - that less then half were 4 speed equiped. The Dart is "All Numbers & Codes" matching * It isdocumented with the original fender tag & build sheet * Only 8,300 miles since completed * This mileage will vary as I continue to drive & enjoy the Dart whenever the weather allows. The Dart has alot of cool options such as Power steering - Power disc brakes - F6L3 bucket seat - Parchment - D21 4 speed - J54 Hood scoop - V21 Hood Performance stripe -V6W Side body stripe - V8W Rear deck panel stripe - Wheellip moldings - Key light - Ash tray light - Glove box light - Trunk light - 3.21 Sure-grip rear. In 2007 - 2008 with the help & guidance from Norm Kraus I converted the Dart into a Mr.Norm's Tribute * I finished the transformation 1 day before the 2008 All Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle PA. At the nationals Mr.Norm personally inspected the Dart for it's accuracy & signed the glove box with the words "Done Right" this is photo documented. On the second day of the nationals I was honored with the Mr.Norm "Top A Body" award - also photo documented & also can be seen on the Mr.Norm's website. On the last day of the event - the Dart further won 3rd place overall in class - Picture of said award available. In the past 3 plus years of owning the Dart it has won no less then 50 awards & trophies * Most recent was a Top 10 finish at the Dover Drag Strip Reunion held in Danbury CT. * The little Dart was up against the likes of Hemi Cuda's - Tri power GTO's - 409 Dual quad Chevy's - W-30 Old's & the like. Let's move now to the body * As you can see the Dart is laser straight * Only repainted once in it's original TX9 Tuxcedo Black color - done in 1999 -2000 & still shows a solid 9 out of 10. The only repairs to my knowledge was to the spare tire well & the very bottom of the right wheel well behind the tire. The interior to my knowledge is all original & is also a solid 9 out of 10 * I added the woodgain Tuff wheel new from Mancini. The original 340 was treated to a professional build with a .030 overbore - Keith Black 10.5.1 match set flat top pistons - I beam rods & polished cast crank * The reciprocating assembly was balanced as was the crank * The original heads were also treated to larger "J" head valves - new springs - retainers - locks & 3 angle valve job * The cam was up-graded to a Mopar Performance 484 /484 hydraulic purple stripe. I would like to mention - the engine picturesin this listing do notreflect the engine in it's current state * The headers are gone replaced with lower mentioned HP exhaust manifolds * Direct Connection chrome valve covers * Mopar period correct Orange restoration wires * Correct Voltage regulator with Yellow lettering * Correct Mopar restoration left side exhaust manifold steel gasket * real Mopar spark plugs * Date coded L-79 Red,White & Blue oil filter * Correct Mopar heater hoses & correct Mopar hose clamps. Part of the transformation required 1969-70 date coded HP exhaust manifolds - New Mopar Performance "Six Pack" setup with factory correct Air-Cleaner assembly. New exhaust pipes from Accuate Exhaust - 2 clamber Flowmasters - Tail pipes with the original chrome tips - not knock off. The original A833 transmission was completely gone throught & shifts like butter * The original shifter with woodgrain ball was also refurbished * In 2008 I installed a Centerforce pressure plate with a full face Ram clutch disc * I also resurfaced the flywheel very slightly so asto not offset the engine balance. As stated - the original 8-1/4 Sure-grip 3.21 is still in place & works great. Believe it or not - the Dart is 93 octane pump gas friendly & will click off 15 mpg at 60 mph. I've had a few questions from other members * One was in regards to the wheels * The wheels currently on the Dart are old school Centerline Auto Drags late 70's introduction * These are not knock off's - but real high polish aluminum Centerlines * I wanted something racey & period correct * They measure 15" x 5-1/2" front & 15"x 7" rear * 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. Tires are B.F.Goodrich radial T/A's * 215-65-15's front with 255-60-15's in the rear * I put them on in the Spring of this year & they have less the 1,000 miles on them. Naturally I still have the factory Rally rims that I use when going to National Events * Please take notice - the Rally centers in the pictures are the wrong color for the year * They have since been corrected to the Light Argent color. The rims are all 14"x 5-1/2" & also have B.F.Goodrich radial T/A's mounted on them * 205-70-14's front with 245-60-14's in the rear * Front tires are in excellent condition & the rear are in very good condition. Another question was - front end - brakes & suspension * Yes the front end was completely rebuilt in 1999-2000 * At that time new .092 torsion bars were installed * Yes they are a little beefier then the factory torsion bars - but not to the point where it rides rough * In fact it greatly improved the ride & handling * The rear spring with custom made according to desired weight - another words - they were built for an A-body of 3,400 lbs. * As you can see from the pictures - the Dart has what I believe the perfect stance * This was achieved without the use of air-shocks or coil-overs. The entire brake system was refurbish at the same time as the rest of the car * Stops on a dime! I was also asked about undercarriage pictures * Since I have no more picture space available to me in this listing - additional pictures can only be supplied directly to you on a one to one bases * Please include your email if you so desire to see above mention photos. I will add to this description as the question come in. Besides paper documentation - I also have photo documentation of every major achievement. I have achieved what I set out to do with the Dart & now it's time to move on & experience something different * If you feel the same way with your ride & would like to own something different also - feel free to give me a call * My name is Dan & I can be reached at 845-473-9300 days 845-546-5523 nights & weekends before 9 pm EST. You can also respond to MrMonteSS@aol.com * Please reply with at least your first name - as I like to know who I'm talking with. I am going to allow offers with this listing - but please remember I don't have to sell the Dart * So low ball offers are just a waste of your time - not mine. No offers will be accepted unless we talk in person at some point * As you can clearly see from my feedbacks both buying & selling I'm not new to this - Not my first rodeo. I encouage you to read those feedbacks - you'll see I'm a standup guy * I have no problems with personal or even 3rd party inspection of the Dart - as it speaks for itself. I reserve the right to end this listing at anytime - due in part to having the Dart listed else where. If you so choice to purchase the Dart outright - there is a $2,000.00 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours from the end of the listing * I allow Paypal for deposit purposes only. This requirement is due to weed out tire kickers & false promises. You also will need to have all favorable feedsbacks yourself. I can smell a dead beat across 3 states. Oversea's people - pickup the phone & call. I have a escrow account with my attorney - so you are protected. I apologize for being so...long winded * I know people feel better with more then a 5 sentence discription & 2 pictures. Thank you for taking the time out to read my listing & have Great day. First off I would like to take this time to thank all the people who have inquired about my Dart * Your questions & complements really make a guy feel good. A few people have asked me if I would consider returning the Dart to a more original configuration - in particular re-installing the factory intake / carburetor / air cleaner & factory rally rims * Yes this is a possibility * But only after deal is struck & the deposit is made. Some other people have asked me about trades - yes this is also a consideration. Auto Transport Quote |
