I am listing this car for a friend of mine who has decided to sell this MAGNIFICENT EXTREMLY WELL BUILT AND RARE 1940 FORD FULL CUSTOM 2 DOOR COUPE STREET ROD. This all steel Ford Standard Coupe body was found with no rust ever as an abanded project that someone started and then was built by one of the finest street rod company's in the bussiness. WIND RIDER STREET RODS of Beckley, West Virginia. It was built in 2000 by hand with every thing new and with extra attention to all of the very fine detail incorporated into this vehicle. All of this is documented with pictures throughoutthe assembly of the car and with reciepts for nearly everything that went into it. Since that time the car has won many many awards such as ROD AND CUSTOM MAGAZINE 100BEST STREET RODS OF2000. The car was driven some after assembly to one of the power tours so there are1,727 miles on it. The original steel body has shaved handles, drip rails, chrome and bumpers. There are Mercedes Benz headlights and turn-park lights in the front, flush glass, a 3piece custom built hood, frenched tear drop tail lights and license plate. It has power remote windows and door locks. It is painted with PPG Colbolt blue pearl with white pearl flames with a trace of orange and yellow in them, then covered with many coats of PPG clear. All of this complements the all white and blue custom leather interior and custom dash board with all this riding on an outlaw chassis with chrome Mustang II front end with power steering, chromed drive shaft and corvette rear end, 4 wheel power disc brakes to slow down the crate 383 small block Chevy engine, 700 R4 automatic transmission and rolling on one off BOYD CODDINGTON billet aluminum wheels. The underside of this car is painted nearly as nice as the top, the motor is painted white and the trans is painted blue with white flames on it. There is also much more chrome under the car as you can see in the pictures.In 2004 at the ISCA car show in New Orleans BIG DADDY DON GARLITS came over tous and asked us some questions about the car and if he could sit in it. Followed by cameras he walked through the display got up in the car and started talking to his camera man and did a short story on it that aired a couple of weeks later on his show. He also commented that it wasone of the finest1940 Fords he had seen.
