This auction is for a 1955 FordSunliner Convertible. ThisFordwent gone through a thourough frame-off restoration by a professional Crown Victoria/ Fairlane restorer approximately twelve (12) years ago. This is a highly optioned Sunliner. Some of the options inlude but are not limited to: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, Power Top, Rare Glovebox Light, Emergency Brake Light, Dual Spotlights, Rocker Moldings, Fender Skirts, Wire Wheel Covers and an original Continental Kit . This was originally a California car that was found in Illinois. Please note the specifics on this vehicle:

Body/Paint:

This vehiclewas restored approximately twelve (12) years ago. The vehicle then underwent a thourough frame-off restoration at that time. The vehicle looks and shows as nice or nicer than the photographs. A truly must see, "American Classic." This Sunliner always turns heads wherever it goes.

The vehicle was refinished in a Dupont base coat/ clear coat,two-tone. The original paint code C/E, Aquatone Blue/ Snowshoe White. The paint is stunning with a deepfinish and gloss. Thereis as much detail to the undercarriageand the engine compartment as to the rest of the vehicle.

Trim:

The convertible topwas newas well as the rear plastic curtain and the well liner. It does have a power top and the top functions as it should. All of therubber seals on the doors, windows, trunkwere also replaced new during the restoration. The top and weatherstripping are all found to be in like new condition.

The bumpers as well as all of the external chrome and stainlesshad all been re-plated and or polished during the restoration and still have an amazing shine. The exteriorscripts were all replaced during the restoration as well. The trim is extremely nice on this show car. The vehicle has dual spotlights, rocker moldings, fender skirts and an original continental kit.

Interior:

The carpetandseats and the interior trim had all been refurbished during the restoration and still retain exceptional quality. The interior, like the rest of the vehicle had been completely restored. The car has a factory original AM radio whichhad been updated and intrnally converted to AM-FM but still appears to be original visually. The interior was put back the to the factory correctblue/ white two-tonecolors. During the restoration, over $5000.00 was spent on the interior alone. The seat material is actually marine grade vinyl that had been hand stitched from the original patterns. The marine grade vinyl was used so any moisture or rain would not hurt the interior just in case you got caught in the rain with the top down. There are no defects to the interior of the vehicle.

As noted earlier, this Sunliner is very highly optioned. It has Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat and a Rare Glovebox Light and Emergency Brake Light. All items work on this vehicle.

Suspension/ Brakes:

Thesuspension and brakes had been gone through and components replaced or refurbished as needed during the restoration. Everything has always been maintained as needed since the restoration.

The vehicle drives and rides better than new. The tires areDiamondback ClassicsRadial Wide-White-Wall tires and are complimented by a set ofwire wheel covers.

Drivetrain:

The engine isFord 272-4Vthathad been bored .40 over. It has Petronix ignition and had been converted from 6 volt to a 12 volt system. Theengine runs and drives amazing. All of the correct decals and accessories adorn the engine including the factory air cleaner. The vehicle has a brand new battery installed as well. The vehicle has only been driven 4-5 times over the past five (5) years. Approximately 3,000 have been put on the vehicle since the frame-off restoration in 1997.

This vehicle is in fantastic condition mechanically and can be reliably driven anywhere. The vehicle was driven to the Crown VictoriaAssociation National Show in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1998. It was a class winner and has won several "Best in Shows" and"Class"trophies since being restored.
