Here we have a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible, last of that classic long, bullet-like futuristic body style. Triple black, rust-free California Car. I would rate a strong 3+ or a 2- on a difficult 1-5 scale (1 being the best). Runs and drives excellent - recent service-detailed later - just turn the key and go. Low reserve for the condition and rarity (390 with a/c). NADA price guide values this car from $23,400 average to $43,000 high. Although the condition of this car is near excellent, reserve is set below average price for this quality of car.

EXTERIOR:

New black convertible top. All chrome like new except some pitting on the fender emblems ($140/pair to replace). All glass fit and condition - excellent. Wheels - wires with spinners like new, Tires - new. Paint - beautiful repaint on quality body, sanded and buffed properly. I give it a 9 out of 10 - like I said, a very impressive car. 1 hand touch up on the right quarter panel - other than that basically flawless. Underside of car like new. Floorpans like new ( I just replaced the carpet). Doors original and fit perfectly - no rust on seams. Windows (manual) go up and down perfectly as well.

MECHANICAL:

Engine bay detailed nicely. Original 390 with auto transmission. Factory air conditioning. Edelbrock performer intake manifold with Elelbrock carburetor (650 cfm?). Brake system COMPLETELY gone through including new master cylinder and new power booster. Engine just tuned up. The car runs out excellent and drives (handles) excellent as well.

INTERIOR:

New factory reproduction seat covers professionally installed over reconditioned seats (springs and foam). New molded carpet and new original style rubber floormats with the old Ford insignia. Dash in good shape with 1 crack repaired at center speaker. Original radio inop (had aftermarket stereo) I will try to get antenna and power to it this week. A/C components work properly. Heater controls work as well. Top mechanism works without hesitation. Manual windows and locks work and fit well. Door panels original and in good condition. Some pitting on Steering Wheel chrome, moderate wear on wheel. Clock original and inop. Original owners manual. Cigarette lighter works!!! Lights work, windshield wipers work, oil and gen lights light up when key is turned. Some wear on visors. Convertible top tonneau cover included and in good shape.
