Once you drive this incredible car...you know the title is right...this is a real 47,000 mile car and nothing drives better than a low mileage original car.

The only better 62 Roadster we have ever seen, driven or owned was a Black one with 10,210 miles which we sold on Ebay 2 years ago for $75,000. This is on a par with the 10,000 mile car but a lot less $$$$.

This car was produced in January as evidenced by the data plate.

Between the start of production of the factory sport roadsters, the ones produced between September 13th and the end of January or the beginning of February, all were designated as 85 cars...the same as the convertible...After that, they were designated as 89 cars and the convertibles remained as 85 cars.

This is a factory roadster, designated as an 85 car which is correct for the time it was produced.

It has the factory original Kelsey Hayes wire wheels, the correct fender roadster emblems and the correct "sissy" grab bar.

The original fiberglass Tonneau cover was destroyed (run over) and the one on the car is a perfect reproduction.

Everything works to perfection.

The Original factory AM radio plays great.

The top works flawlessly.

The AC blows ice cold!

The Power steering and power brakes work fabulous.

All the power windows work to perfection.

It also has the Driver's side power seat which works just as it should...the passenger side is manual.

The interior is just like the rest of the car...drop dead gorgeous!

The engine compartment is immaculate and the undercarriage is beautiful.

Rock solid and NO rust.

The paint , chrome and trim are magnificent...look at the photos...they tell the real story...

And as good as this car looks, I can personally attest that it is one of the very best 62 or 63 Thunderbirds I have ever had the pleasure to drive....and I know how these cars should drive...we use to cruise Miami Beach in a white 1962 Bird Roadster that belonged to my buddies Dad...and wow...we "scored" almost every time when we had his Dad's T-Bird Roadster.LOL....

The 1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster models are among the most prized of all Thunderbirds. This has led some to create roadster clones from standard convertibles.

The problems Ford had with invoices during early 1962 production create a "gray area" that has allowed some to be duped into thinking they are getting the real thing. The first Sports Roadster built was serial number 2Y85Z 105844, assembled on September 13, 1961.

Between that number and date, through serial number 2Y85Z 114640, some 558 factory Sports Roadsters were built.

We can not think of anything you could do to make it any nicer....the photos tell the story better than we can....and as good as it looks...it drives even better!

All of these roadsters were invoiced and sold as convertibles with optional Sports Roadster Package. Most of these cars were painted Rangoon Red, with Black Vinyl trim.

The first Sports Roadster built, that was actually coded as a roadster, was serial number 2Y89Z 127027, built December 11, 1961. However, this last date is currently under question, as there may be one built earlier in the month of December. Through the rest of the model year, Sports Roadsters would be correctly coded.

All Sports Roadsters left the factory with the fiberglass Tonneau Cover; red, white and blue Thunderbird emblems on both front fenders, (centered between the bumper and wheel opening, below the script); a matching emblem on the Tonneau Cover, between the seats; a color-keyed Passenger Assist Bar mounted on the padded instrument panel in front of the right passenger; and 5 Kelsey-Hayes Wire Wheels with Knock-Off Spinners.

No, you could not get rear fender shields on a roadster! There wasn't enough clearance, and they were not provided. This also goes for ANY Thunderbird that left the factory with wire wheels.

There are after market wire wheels, considered safer by today's standards, and they can be modified to fit cars with the fender shields in place. However, this was not done by the factory.

We try very hard to describe every car honestly and correctly. We openly encourage every potential bidder or buyer to have the car of your choice inspected prior to winning an auction or to using the buy it now feature.

We are located just 10 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and would be happy to pick you up whenever possible.

If you have a private plane, we are only 1 minute from the Executive Jet Port in Ft. Lauderdale....we keep our plane there. We will pick you up in our Golf cart. We're that close!

Any new car or truck we offer, is covered by the remainder of any existing factory warranty. There is no charge from any manufacturer to continue the warranty when a vehicle is sold to another party when the warranty has not expired.

There are no warranties on any Vintage cars or cars when the manufacturer's warranty has expired.

If 10 different people look at a vintage car you can bet you'll get 10 different descriptions. I have purchased many, many cars over the Internet and off of EBay and for the most part have been pleased. Probably because of the fact I am a true car collector and realize there is no such thing as PERFECT!
