Powered by DESCRIPTION We have had many inquiries on this car but are relisting it until an acceptable offer is accepted. To answer a few questions; There is no body rust what so ever, all body work is in excellent condition from the restoration done in the 1970's. OEM and NOS parts were used for the work done throughout the life of the car. The engine and entire drive train are in good working order. The only issue is the clutch will not release because it is frozen on the pressure plate. We are excited to offer this incredible 1949 Mercury “Lead Sled”! This car has had the same owner since 1964 and has been driven less then 1,000 miles since that time. It has been barn stored and retains its original flavor right down to the last detail. The car is available for showing by appointment only. We are advertising it locally starting in a few publications this weekend so the auction is subject to an early closing without notice. This V8 powered car has the original motor & original 3 speed manual transmission. The paint was re-done in 1978 with the original “bronze maroon metallic” color. All the glass was replaced except for the rear window. The wheels are original but the tires will need replacement to be road worthy. The owner also has OEM glass replacements that will be included in this auction. He also has OEM replacements for the head liner as well as a bunch of the chrome trim that are also included in the sale. There was professional body work done in the1970’s to take care of some rust spots. Everything on the car in metal is in excellent conditionso you will not have to deal with any body work for a restoration. The clutch or pressure plate is frozen and probably needs replacement. The exhaust and brakes were re-done in the 70’s as well. The car is located near our office, convenient to Exit 5 off I91 in southern Vermont. If payment is not received within 7 days, the auction will be revoked and a Non-Paying Bidder alert will be filed. We accept PayPal. Items will not be shipped until payment has cleared our bank. We are a registered business in the state of VT, therefore any items shipped within the state of VT will be charged 6% sales tax at the time of checkout. RETURNSAlthough it is rare, returns are accepted under the following guidelines: Buyer MUST contact seller within3 days of receiving the item with any problems. The buyer MUST notifiyand get approval from the seller before returning any items or your refund will be void. Items must be return postmarked within 7 days of receipt of item unless other arrangements have been made. Any sealed or boxed items must be returned unopened in their original state. If the item is damaged, seller will send buyer instructions for assisting in filing a claim. Damaged items must be brought to the carrier by the buyer, if a damaged item is shipped/returned to the seller the insurance is void on the item. Failure to comply with the above policies may result in a refund not being issued. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.
