Up for Auction is a 1970 Mercury Cougar with a full Restoration and Eliminator Package with 44,596 original miles!

At the start of the restoration, the vehicle was totally stripped of all lacker paint to expose any rust on the body. There was very little rust with some minor dings and bumps. Minor body work was donethen primered and blocked. That process was then repeated for a second time. Once that wasfinished, the car was sprayed inEpoxy Primerwith Rust inhibitors then blocked and shot in Epoxy again. Then, the base coat was applied then clearedand wet sanded thenthat process wasrepeated. Next, the vehicle was buffed in Mothers Diamond Cut to bring the clear to its shine. Last, the carwas buffedagain in Mothers Showroom Finish. Allpaintproducts are DeltronPPG Line. Base coat color is CarrolShelby Greenwith a touch of Gold Metallic which was profit read from theoriginal baked enamel paint under the rear tail lights when removed. The paintwork is a showroom finish!

Stainless steel and chrome are in near perfectcondition. Front bumper had light surface rust on the bottom side of it, so I had it rechromed by Paul's Chrome of Evan City, Pa at a cost of $1,000.00. (with receipt)

Under the hood, is an all numbers matching 351 Cleveland Engine with 44,596 miles on the block. All enginebelts and pullieswere replaced brand new. There is a brand new 24 inchaluminium radiatorin it factory original comes with the vehicle, but was weak.Chrome package installed on the motor, oil pan, air cleaner,coil cover, and Edelbrock valve pancovers all with new gaskets. 650 CFM Edelbrock Carburator andIntake were installed brandnew on the engine.A tune up with plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and carb were done and the car RUNS LIKEA DREAM!

Transmission is aC6 Cruise-O-Maticthat is also the factory original. There was a smalltransmission pan leak, so it was regasketed. Universals arebrand new heavy dutyzoom brand. In the rear end a 360 Full Posi-Traction was installed.All brakes are brand new front and rear Raybestos brand. All brake lines and hoseswere replacedunder brand name both front and rear. E-brake cable and bracket are also brand new. The steering was purchased inner and outer tie rod ends, power cylinder,power steering hoses, and bushings were replaced withbrand new ones. All shocks are brand new Monroe front and rear. The rest of the suspension in the frontare brand new upper and lower controlarms, upper and lower ball joints, and bushings all purchased from Laurel MountainMustangs in Pa.

Rims and Tires are brand new American Racing TorqII painted the same color as the car in base coat clear coat.

Exhaust is 2 1/2 inch stainless steel with magna flow mufflers that are brand new from the Manifold back.

There were patches in the floor, so it was removed the entire floor front and rear and installed brand new floor and plugsthat were spot welded correctly like the original ones filled the seamswithbodyseam caulking.

Interior is all original white and is in perfect condition. Dashboard and gauges are in perfect working order with no cracks in the dashboard. There are no tears or rips in any of the seats and a brand new rug was installed withthe new floor. Center console is perfect and center bezel with original AM/FM radiois perfect. Both driver side and passenger side view mirrors were found for this car and installed. This restoration is near perfect to anyones standards. And vinyl eliminator package looks like a ghost package because of the color of the car. This car is going to be sold if not on e-bay then personally, BUT HAS TO BE SOLD so please only serious bidders! I would incourage anyone to come and see the car.
