Up for auction is a 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler with a 429 Cobra Jet engine and a top loader 4 speed with factory Hurst shifter. It has a N-case 9 inch 31 spline differential with traction-lok, PDB, PS, Competition Orange with black interior in good original condition, optional shoulder belts, front and rear spoiler, original jack and spare bias ply tire. The car has a fair 80’s respray except the door jams and the trunk. It has new front and rear brakes with stainless steel brake lines, new master cylinder, new front and rear shocks, new tires on 14 inch wheels, new belts and hoses, new fan clutch, new stainless steel 2 and ½ inch exhaust with Dr. Gas X-pipe and welded Dynomax mufflers, and MSD 6A electronic ignition.

Speedometer recently inoperative (less than 500 miles ago), tachometer and charging gauges need to be repaired, all other gauges work. Horn inoperative and the Rimblow steering wheel needs to be rebuilt. Optional am/fm mpx stereo radio is inoperative, front passenger side seat belt retractor sticks, small crack in dash pad by the tach, crack in original windshield (all original Carlite glass), some small paint chips and scratches, small dent in the lower rear passenger side valance, and some small paint blisters on the passenger side of the hood. It is missing the ram air lid.

Car comes with one new complete set of FoMoCo dealer shop manuals, various brochures and paperwork, owners manual, and used and NOS parts all go with car. Car was published in Cruzin’ Magazine in April 1997 and Hot Rod’s Mustangs and Fords in September 1991. This car had been garaged and Ford mechanic owned for 18 years. The car is in very good near original condition and needs little for restoration.

This car is rare! Only 1631 Cyclone Spoilers were made in 1970 and this car has the more desirable 4 speed drivetrain. It has been verified by Marti Report as one of one with options ordered. It is difficult to locate one in this condition.
