This is a 1969 Olds 442 Tribute Car. Originally a Cutlass S, the previous owner had it re-painted and badged as a 442. This car is completely original and numbers matchings. No rebuilds or alterations, except for the 442 badging and conversion to dual exhaust. Complete documentation...see below.

First, the history: Originally bought by a returning soldier using GM's finance program for veterans. I have documentation showing the vehicle with 25,470 miles on 8/14/73. From there, the car sat untouched in a garage until the previous owner saw it for sale. For nearly 3 decades, this car sat untouched and unmolested. The previous owner had it re-painted (it was originally gold on gold) and badged as a 442 with the vertical side stripes and dual exhaust. He also added original 442 rims.

My purchase: I found the car and it was exactly what I had hoped. The previous owner had taken great care of it and won many trophies for the few years he owned it. The seats still had the original plastic covering on them. I found that the car had the original belts, plugs, hoses, and wires. After replacing them, I ordered a set of brand new Wheel Vintiques 15x7 SSII wheels for the front and 15x8's for the back while I restored the orginal 442 rims. I wrapped the new wheels in BFG Radial T/A's...225/70/15 in front and 255/60/15 in back. These tires have only a few thousand miles on them. I converted the original ac system over to R134, and it blows cold. The original AM Transistor radio works great, but for new tunes, I installed a custom built box, wrapped it in gold vinyl with black trim, and installed a new CD player with kick panel speakers. This entire unit can be removed in one piece in 10 minutes for the shows. The only other work it needed was new shocks up front, a new sending unit in the tank, and to replace the front inner and outer bearings. The car runs great with it's original 350 Rocket, 2bbl carb, and 2 speed Power Glide transmission...yes, the Power Glide. I have driven this car to Florida and back (from Georgia) and it gets 17 mpg on the highway!!! It is an incredible driver, and it won't leave you stranded...drive it to the show, win your class, and drive the trophy home.

Unfortunately, my job requires me to drive to downtown Atlanta again, and a new car with better mileage was needed, so now is your chance to own this gem.

In the pictures below, you will also find full documentation for this vehicle, including the original Build Sheet, ProtectOPlate, original Retail Order Form, original Tax Statement, original Invoice ($3,105.95!), original New Vehicle Warranty, and Glove Box Wallet with Manual. Also included with the sale of this car are the 442 rims the previous owner put on it. I have blasted and re-painted them the correct inside and outside paint colors, and they are mounted to the tires that came with the car. I even have the orginal spare with the real polyglass tire that has never been used. This car is in perfect condition inside and outside, as you can see from the pics. It is a perfect driver and starts every time with no leaks. If you are looking for a rust-free donor to mount a big 455 in, then this car could be for you as well, though I personally wouldn't change a thing.

All questions are encouraged and will be answered promptly. I will give full access to the car for a test drive if you are within the north Atlanta area. I will also put you in touch with the third party who has serviced this car if desired.
