1967 GEORGE BARRIS "THE VOXMOBILE" VOX For Sale

Truthfully, I doubt this car has 100 miles on it. We were looking at the parts, engine and the chassis, etc., and it is REALLY, REALLY clean. I have an original Muntz 8 track but I am not sure where is was mounted. I spoke with Ed King of Strawberry Alarm Clock and he didn't remember much about the car. It was in the movie Psych-Out with Jack Nicholson (Jack you would like this car - I'll give you an appropriate discount for an acting lesson - NO KIDDING) Susan Strasberg and Dean Stockwell but the car got cut - but made the Lobby Card. This is a great piece of Americana. Please check it out! This is perhaps the fastest promotional vehicle ever built - the 1967 Voxmobile, it is shaped like two Vox guitars and crammed full of other Vox products with a total power output of 1000 Watts. The engine is pretty muscular, a 289, 4.7-litre Ford V8, as used in the early AC Cobra and capable of pushing the Voxmobile to a claimed top speed of 175mph. I have not tried that! So here it is - the one and only VOXMOBILE! In 1967,
Vox approached George Barris to build a Voxmobile guitar auto. Their
idea was to fabricate a custom roadster that would function both as a
car and as a mobile amplifier, designed to be used for promotional
purposes. And their dreams came true with Voxmobile, a vehicle with a
Vox guitar silhouette that served as a functioning amp that could
support up to 32 guitars, and also featured a working Vox Super Continental organ in the
rear deck. Type in the name of the car with "the" before it on google for more pics and info. NOTE: The guitars and the Beatle head are long gone. However, I do have a correct Beatle head and know where a correct bass guitar is if you have a need to know.
