Triple Black 71 Duster 340 Numbers Matching For Sale
![]() This Plymouth Duster muscle car for sale has been shown times.
Over-restored, original factory 3-speed numbers matching Plymouth Duster 340. Numerous first place awards including 2005 Chrysler Classic Overall Points Champion. After I did the competitive show scene, I decided to have fun with the car, so I first put on a set of widened stock steelies with a restored set of dog dishes, and then later purchased a custom-drilled small bolt set of Boyd Coddington Junk Yard Dog wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, and a chromed stock air cleaner. I still have all the original/reproduction parts including a set of ralley wheels and repro Goodyear Polyglas tires. A couple of hours and you can take it back to stock (front wheel studs will have to be replaced with a shorter OEM stud). I purchased this car at the Mopar Nats in 1998, and I'm the fourth owner. The original owner had the car up until the mid-1990s, when it was purchased and then sold again by two other individuals who repainted the car hemi orange. Both owners were from Canada and neither one titled the car. I then began the 3 1/2 year restoration process to match the specs from the special order purchase dating March 22, 1971 at McClean Bros.dealership in Essex, Ontario, Canada. This restoration was done according to the original build sheet and original purchase receipt. What you are looking at is an original matte black stripe option, indicated by the V6X 8X on the build sheet. Other special options are: H31-Rear window defogger; M85-Bumper Guards; N85-Dash Tach; B11-10" drum brakes; A01-Light Package; A88-Interior Decor Package; C55-Bucket Seats; G37-Chrome LH Remote, RH Manual Outside Mirrors, Chrome with L31-turn signal indicators and chrome gas cap; and D13-3 speed floor shifter. I have the original bill of sale, build sheet, owners manual with additional paperwork, and most of the original owners receipts for work performed on the car. I also have the receipts for all the work that I performed and hired out. The transmission was rebuilt in 1999, the rear as well. The only part on the entire car that wasn't rebuilt was the block. A compression test showed it to be all within specs so I was advised to not touch it. The original owner did rebuild the motor in 1978, but the receipt only shows it as being bored and a new cam installed. It doesn't idle too radically so I'm guessing the cam isn't too lumpy. Regardless, it doesn't burn a spec of oil. The correct part numbered Thermoquad was restored by Daytona Parts. The correct part numbered alternator was from a rebuilt from 71 Demon. This is the case for all parts on this car. They are either the original, the correct numbered OEM part or if none were available reproduction parts. Date coding was done on the spark plug wires, voltage regulator, hoses, etc. This Duster will make a deserving owner very happy. It drives great, and still runs flawlessly. It's just time for me to pass this on to the next loving owner. The winning bidder will be required to submit a $2,000 deposit upon the completion of the auction, within 24 hours. I prefer receiving payment for the deposit ONLY by PayPal. The remaining balance needs to be received within seven (7) days of the conclusion of the auction. I would be happy to deliver the car if it's within a 400 mile radius of Columbus, Ohio, for $1.00 a mile. You also have the option to come pick up the car at my home, or arrange for professional shipment. This Duster is sold As Is. There is no warranty expressed or implied verbally or written. We reserve the right to end this listing should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle.
