1962 Pontiac, frame off restoration of nice original car, ultra rare body style, aluminum Pontiac Developmental (Department X) engine made for Mickey Thompson. One of 14 original engines cast, only three survive and I own them all. Details about this specific engine in a four page article in the May 2005 issue of High Performance Pontiac. The November issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines also has some information about the engine (before I removed it from my 1963 Pontiac Tempest Wagon.) I had this 1962 full size car built to showcase the rare early racing heritage of the engine. Lots of rare pieces were used in the building of this car including the rare Super Duty aluminum intake setup, exhaust manifolds, bell housing, clutch linkage and the aluminum center section from a Swiss Cheese Super Duty car of the period. Included in the photos is one shot of the car at this year's Co-vention for POCI and the GTO Nationals in Dayton, two shots of the Tempest wagon (not for sale) with the aluminum engine before I removed it, and two photos of the other two aluminum blocks, one sleeved and the other not sleeved. All three of these blocks have the correct Pontiac Developmental markings in the castings. With a purchase at the Buy It Now price I will include both spare blocks at no extra charge.
