Vehicle Description
Here is your chance to bid on a very rare car. This is anoriginal survivor carwith loads of documentation. Actual mileage is 49k.They only built 882 of these cars and this is a special order paint car. There can't be too many of these ever ordered, let alone still original and in this condition. This is a two owner car that had some paint work done by the dealer in 1976 and has remained untouched since. The interior is mint and original. It is a matching numbers car with the rare ram air III code wq block with vin stamped. It has the 48 heads and original exhaust manifolds. I took off the original spiral shocks due to some sagging. I kept them to be included in thesale. This is the original engine, not a restamp!! The paint buffed out beautifully. There are a few small hairline lacquer cracks in a couple of places if you look very close, but it does not detract at all from the beauty of the vehicle. Paperwork includes the original invoice, original delivery receipt, (not the copy from phs like most have) warranty protect-0-plate booklet, and the list goes on. The original dealer folder on the car with all warranty work performed in the 70's is also included. The owner put the tri-power on the car, but a correct intake and restored carb are included. These are considered as collectible as the 1969 trans am because it is the exact same drive train. The power steering fluid cooler is also included, just not on the car at the moment. All body panels are original and in perfect condition. The floor pans are perfect with no rust. I would advise anyone who is serious to come and view this car. Please check my feedback and see that I will be as honest as I can in this description. Please call me with any questions. I will be at my son's baseball tournament next week but you can reach me by cell phone anytime with questions. My cell is 260-433-4244. I reserve the right to end this auction early due to the fact that it is for sale locally. Thanks and good luck. Blake

Thanks for all of the calls and interest. I will include some more info to hopefully help all of you out. The cowl tag data is as follows: ST 69 22337LOR502724 TR 208, 76-76 Paint build date of 11c which is third week november 68. Heads are dated 11/2/68. Carb number is 29273. I could not see the date on the back of the block, but the vin is stamped on the front of the block. I am confident that this is the original block. This car is legitimate, not a restamp. The distributor number is 1111952. I will try and respond to all questions as much as I can. Thanks again for all of the interest!! Blake

After many calls and discussions, I have found myself in a debate on whether this car should be called a ram air III or 400 HO car. The PHS sheet calls it a 400 R/A option and the code on the block is wq which according to Firebird by the Numbers is a 400 ram air III car. The purists say that only the cars ordered with the inlet pkg and hood pans should be called true ram air cars. Regardless, this is what most people would consider a 400 ram air III car. It does not have the pans!! About 90% of the callers have said it is a ram air III car, the other 10% say it should be called an HO car. The numbers are still the same with only 882 of these being built. I don't want to cause any problems among the Pontiac purists. Thanks for all of you helpful input. Blake
