That..s the way the car was delivered to Phil Tolkian Pontiac in Milwaukee, WI, but there are a couple great upgrades added since. How about the very cool, functional Ram Air hood with hood mounted tach, power trunk release, tilt column with the sports woodgrain wheel and a full set of Rally II wheels with Firestone Wide Ovals? And since the Ivory White top looked so good against the deep blue, the restorer decided to switch the interior over to white, as well. We didn..t think you..d mind, either!
We said this car looks like it was dipped in cleacoat, and that..s mostly true. If it..s supposed to be shiny, it..s blinding, and if it..s supposed to be satin it..s perfectly so. Check out underneath--there are NO stones unturned here. The frame is perfect top, bottom and sides, with no pits or marks under the powdercoat. The floors are gorgeous and mark free. Both the front ad rear suspensions are stunning, built with all new parts. The original code XH heavy duty 12 bolt axle is out back while the numbers matching PX Turbo 400 transmission is in the middle. The entire fuel system is new and correct down to the clips, and the same goes for the brakes. The exhaust system is so new the paper tags on the head pipes are still legible-this is a FRESH car. Of course, the proper tags and markings are in place, as well.
If you..re unfamiliar with the color, Liberty Blue, it..s understandable as it..s one of the rarest colors in 1969. You can..t deny that it looks stellar, especially with the new and mint original trim, crisp new top, new emblems, perfect and new Rally II wheels with new F70x14Wide Ovals, new full glass set and more. While the hood would have come with the dual scoops it..s a power and visual boost to see the opening doors and the classic hood tach. Up front the grille and hideaway headlamps are excellent, surrounded by new stainless. New lights, lenses and bezels sparkle like new. The paint is exceptional and miles deep. You..ll think of reasons to out to the garage and stare at it.
Under the hood you..ll find the original and numbers matching YS code 350hp 400 engine, finished like a jewel and topped with its correct #6 heads and 7054905 Q-jet. The engine bay is crisply satin and features all new components such as the clearcoated and protected power brake booster and master cylinder, new washer fluid reservoir, a new battery with an R59 Delco battery topper connected to the motor with spring ring battery cables and more. There..s a new set of Delco wires, new hoses connected with tower clamps, a correct ram air baseplate and lid and detailed accessories on the motor. If you..re looking for a great looking, great driving GTO this is the one.
Slide behind the wheel and get comfortable. You..re riding on all-new upholstery, complete with new seat covers, new door panels and new carpeting.
