TESTICLES NOT INCLUDED??? Let me explain... the last THREE PEOPLE who bid(and won) the auction for this car, FLAKED OUT. One didn't have a dime, one made up some ridiculous story about not being able to import it into Australia, and one didn't have his 'Mommy's' permission... So, I'm letting everyone know that TESTICLES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION! Please, if you don't have the money, don't bid on this car and waste everyones time - I have serious bidders and serious people who want a fair auction, and probably some people who are getting tired of seeing this same car - again.
So, below is the exact same ad I've run 4 times now - let's hope there's not a 5th!
Dropping the price! The other day I was out playing with the car - removing the speakerbox - and accidently disconnected one of the cables that operated the convertible top. When I tried to put the top down, one side lowered and the other side didn't. Snap! I broke a small bracket(NOT THE TOP FRAME) that holds the top frame to the body of the car. I took it in and it's a $360 part. If you know how to spot weld, you can fix it for free, but I don't weld or have the time to screw with it. You can still operated the top manually, but will need to fix this bracket to operate it electrically - So, I'm dropping the price $1500! The part in question is called the "Convertible Top Transmission". The piece itself isn't broken, just the 'eyelet' on it that allows a bolt to hold it to the body of the car. If winning bidder decides to take the vehicle into a shop to have fixed, and the part costs more than $360, I'll pay the difference for the cost of the part(with receipt)
Zero or Low Feedback Bidders If your feedback is less than 20, please call me before placing your bids or your bid will be cancelled.
This is a PROFESSIONAL CUSTOM BUILD - Built by Renegade Hybrids of Las Vegas. No Affiliation, but Check them out at www.renegadehybrids.com. For those of you who are unaware, Renegade Hybrids Porsche conversions have been featured in Excellence Magazine several times... they are the UNDISPUTED LEADER in this industry - and although their work may not be cheap, it is UNQUESTIONABLY THE BEST.
I also wanted to mention that this "Muscle Car" Porsche is the fastest and most fun to drive than any of my other Porsches, and I've had 4, including 2 928's! This thing is a blast do drive!
UP FOR AUCTION is a 1981 Porsche 911 SC Targa-converted into a Cabriolet, which originally had a Porsche 3.0 "Flat 6" engine, which produced about 180 Horsepower. If you've ever driven one of these older Porsches, you know 180 hp may have been fine back then, but by today's standards, very lame. This is NOW a TRUE AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR... - THAT JUST HAPPENS TO LOOK LIKE A PORSCHE C2. It's not just an "Old Porsche". Step on the gas and THIS THING PULLS!
I take this out for a drive about once a week, and ALWAYS run into another Sunday Morning Middle-aged guy on 'his' Sunday Morning Drive in his old Porsche. Then, after I blow them away, I'll pull over at a Starbucks or something and let them catch up because I know they're gonna stop and drool over my car - and they do. When I show them the conversion to a V8 they flip... NOBODY ever thinks that a conversion like this is possible, but as you can see in the photos, it's a work of art.
For those of you that have driven Porsches of this era, you know that they're very cool, get a lot of looks, but are dogs compared to todays cars. It can be pretty embarrassing when your driving your "Dream Porsche" and get blown away by some 16 year olds 'Rice Burner". I've actually had a Porsche guy tell me recently, "It's very nice, but of course it's no longer a Porsche". My reply was "You're right... Now it's Faster, More Reliable, More Fun to Drive, and will BLOW YOUR'S AWAY"!
Renegade Hybrids charged $26k for this conversion, and it's worth every penny. Then , if you were to consider the price of the car, paint job, tires and wheels, you're looking at easily over 44 grand - a STEAL at $23,500! At the "buy it now" price, you're getting the car for less the price of the conversion, not to mention the $4400 I've put into it this month alone.
Aside for the fact that this car is FINALLY as fast as it looks, the main advantage is NO MORE INSANE PORSCHE REPAIR BILLS. Something goes bad and you can find the parts at the auto store - NOT THE PORSCHE DEALER! Remember, it's now a Small Block Chevy!
LASTLY, I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere - it is in that perfect of a condition, and everything works flawlessly.
Car is also listed locally on Craigslist, so may not make it to end of auction. If you have any questions, please feel free to call - Russ (702) 324-3635
HERE IS A RUN DOWN:
EXTERIOR: Good Porsche Red paint from 2-3 years ago - high gloss. Paint is same color as the inside compartments, door jams, trunk lid, etc. Weather stripping in excellent condition. All glass in excellent condition.
POWERED Convertible top works PERFECTLY. Push a button and the top goes up(or comes down) and the latches lock/unlock electronically. Material in great condition except for two small holes that have been professionally repaired. No rust (galvanized steel body).
INTERIOR: Excellent condition. No tears or cracks in dash, doors, leather seats. New carpet kit. Underside of convertible top in excellent shape. The top is automatically power-retracted with a switch under the dash.
ENGINE: 350 cubic inch with Edelbrock 650 carb., RPM Performer aluminum heads, Custom Made Renegade Hybrids Headers. Estimated 350 horse power (maybe more). For those of you who are 'Car Guys', this engine can be built up or replaced if/when you want to, as the transmission can handle about 500 hp! For me, it's fast enough already!
TRANSMISSION: Porsche 915 (the standard SC tranny from the 911) SHIFTS PERFECTLY! I've just spoken to Scott at Renegade Hybrids - he's the guy who built this car - and Scott tells me that without ANY modification to the engine, he can replace the 4th and 5th gears in the transmission(installing 'taller' gears, and make this about a 170 mph car! Too fast for me...
WHEELS: New ZR Rated Michelin Pilot tires (less than 2,000 miles) - 17" 205's in the front. 17" 255's in the back. Very nice rims with BIG 4 wheel SC disc brakes.
TUNES: Alpine sound system with two 10" MTX subwoffers. Alpine Amp is below the passenger side seat. Check out pictures to see speaker box.
COOLING: This car has never overheated. Custom Cooling System designed and installed by Renegade.
FUEL: New Renegade gas tank with all accessories installed by Renegade.
HEAT/AC: Great after market heater - kicks out plenty of heat. I've just spent $4400 having this thing gone through, including having the entire Air Condition Unit installed with brand new parts. BLOWS ICE COLD - and to say that of ANY car here in Vegas where it hit's 120 degrees, that means COLD!. Additionally, the A/C is the newer system which name escapes me at the moment - NOT THE OLDER SYSTEM OF FREON!
This car turns a lot of heads and is the ultimate "sleeper" car. It is fun to drive and is a blast with the top down. Anticipate a great ride! Serious bidders only - PLEASE, NO JOY RIDES.
Asking $23.5k or trade for '01 - '04 low mileage Corvette, gold, etc. (other interesting offers considered)
If you're considering this car, please take the time to check out http://www.renegadehybrids.com and you'll see the Professionalism and Hi-Quality of their work. Best of luck and happy bidding!
