Availableat auctionfor the first time in over 30 years....a steel-bodied 1933 Willys Pro-Street car!! If you've been around the drag-racing community for any length of time, you will no doubt recognize this car. It's been the winner of the "Good Guys" Indianapolis Hot Rod Shoot-Out 6 times!!! It has been raced for many years around all of Ohio and surrounding states, and most recently won the "Super Chevy Norwalk" True Street Class. Perhaps you remember seeing it at the Hot Rod Reunion in Illinois, or even the Pump Gas Drags in Memphis. The owner of this car bought it from a local Clevelandman in October of 1977. At that time, it was more or less a basket case project, disassembled and in many pieces....not for the faint of heart, but it did have one redeeming characteristic....it was an original rust-free steel bodied car! It took about three years to get it back on the road, and from that point it has been a project in motion. Fast-forward to today, and you have a car that consistently runs in the low 9's in full street trim, and does it on pump gas. Here are some of the highlites..... 1. Engine/Transmission/Rear Axle 540 c.i Gen VI Chevy big block, Eagle Crank and H-beam rods, SRP pistons 10.5 to 1, Profiler 24 degree aluminum heads, T&D shaft rockers, Profiler Sniper intake, C&S Specialties 1100 cfm aerosol carb, LSM custom solid roller cam, heavy duty cooling system. Built Turbo 400 with an ATI 9 1/2 inch convertor. Narrowed 9-inch Ford rear end with 4.30 gearing and Detroit Locker and Strange street/strip axles. 2. Chassis 2 x 3 square tube custom-built chassis built by local builder Jack Sidor. Full roll-cage, front and mid engine plates, 4-link rear end, front and rear"coil-overs", dropped-tube front axle, front disc/rear drum high-performance racing brakes. 3. Wheels/Tires HoleShot 3 piece billet front and rear rims with 15 x 4 on the front and 15 x 15 on the rear. 31 x 18 1/2 Hoosier Quick-Time Pro rear slicks-DOT approved. 4. Professionally done by local interior guy Chuck Watson in 2003...very nicely done with safety belts, etc. Car rewired with the "Painless Pro-Street" kit inMay of this year. 5. Paint Owner painted the car in 1995, and it's current condition reflects paint that is 13-plus years old. On a scale of 1 to10, we conservatively give it a solid 7. Car owner is a well-known local painter, and has a reputation as a master craftsman. Needless to say, the car looks great for being as old as it is. As you can see, this is a very well-built car that has ground-pounding performance and wonderful street mannerisms. The car runs a comfortable 190 degrees on a hot August day in traffic or on the highway. The cool thing about it is that it needs no fiddling around with to turn low-9 second et's. In fact, it's best time is a 9.18 @145 miles an hour (1.26 60-foot time) with the same tune as driven on the street. The owner of this car is a personal friend of mine, and is not computer saavy at all....therefore, I am listing it for him. We realize that the serious lookers/buyer of this car will have lots of questions to ask, and that's to be expected. I ask that you do so one of two ways....1. Come to Columbia Station, Ohio44028 to view the car in person. There is no better way to get a complete understanding of the car and the owner than to be there in person. Keith literally has boxes and boxes of pictures/photos/trophys, etc. from over 30 years of ownership that will establish the unique provenance of thisWillys. 2. Phone calls can be made to the owner in the evenings between 7 and 9 pm eastern time. Please email me through ebay for the phone number. Please.....serious bidders only!! This auction is going to run for 5days, and there is a reserve price.....in my opinion it'svery reasonable.Keith has been a friend for many years, and I've spent a lot of time with him and his car.We have intentionally "underdescribed" it, so when you travel here to see it you'll be pleasantly suprised. Please take a look at my Ebay rating....100% positive on over 100 transactions. We only ask for a $500.00 deposit via paypal at auction end, and the balance to be paid at pick-up in the form ofa bank wire /cash. If you are not satisified with this car in any way upon inspection here, we will gladly and without question refund you your deposit. Thanks for looking, and good luck in the auction. This car is for sale locally, and auction can be cancelled any time prior to reserve being met. Once reserve is met, the car will sell here. Owner has free/clear title in hand and is ready to complete transaction. Of course, shipping will be at buyers expense, but we will be happy to facilitate that process. Please, no trades......owner wants to sell his car after 30 years of ownership and doesn't want any other cars at this time. Thanks again, and good luck!!!!! Chris |
