42 Willys MB Jeep Early WWII Military Slat Grill For Sale
![]() This Willys MB muscle car for sale has been shown times.
This is an awsomeearly (less than 7% of the total war time production)Willys slat grill MB! It'sdate of deliveryis January 2nd, 1942 and the matching frame & dash data tag list it as serial number "108808" It's has the body tub features peculiar to these early jeepslike the script "Willys"on the rear panel, square shaped fuel tank well, no glovebox on the passenger's side dash, and dual hinge rear tool box lids. The fuel tank's the correct "small mouth" and the windshield, seats, hood, grill, baffles...all of the body parts...are original correct slat grill components. It even has the correct "fluted" inner axle shafts that are always missing, the cast windshield hold down clamps, and the early "pancake" styleair cleaner. This is a genuine early slat grill jeep! Here's what'snot original, however: engine..........................It's an "F" head with an M151 side-draft carb. Lots more power...just not original. The radiator.........................It's a script marked GPW Ford one. (A very nice one I might add) charging system............Been converted to 12V with an alternator. leaf springs...................New production Ranchos with a non stock 2" lift. they are WWII combat rims...slat grillscame with theearly "solid" 16" rims. The tires are "Swampers" rear cross member........Been replaced with a piece of channel. Also, it has a jerry can bracket and corresponding rear panel supports welded in, but these were probably added during it's time in military service so they're sorta original. There's other little things (like the gauges)that are not correct as well...but these are the main ones that I can see. So...what you're looking at here is what I'd call a cool looking, mostly original, better capability, slat grill MB that you will actually DRIVE!!! Let's face it...that perfectly 100%restored WWII jeep sitting in your shop under a cover...never gets driven! (You're too afraid to...come on...admit it!) After all that time and money you've spent on your "sweet pea" it rarely sees the light of day. THIS jeep, however...since it's not so original...you could actually drive around and not feel guilty! You could take it to get ice cream, loan it to the father-in-law, heck...even let it get dirty, and it's no big deal!!! (...and the guys on the "G" won't crucify you too!) Plus...it's sporting a whole 18 more horse power with that scream'n "F" head so you could enter it in the local drag races...or take it to the ORV park and show those young punks with those sissy YJ's & TJ's what a REAL jeep can do! Then ..I suppose...one could find the missing pieces andbring this cool slatty back to factory original...but where's the fun in that! (I like my first idea better!!!) Whatever your intentions...you NEED this MB! It runs and drives great, ithas very little rust that I can see, andcomes with a box of extra parts & a rebuildable chain drive MB "L" (flat) head 134 engine.(sorry...not a correct serial number range slat grill engine) And, it's ready to drive and have fun with right now! The gent I'm listing it for has a new project so it's time for this to go. Thisjeep's in excellent condition, and agian...you need this! This jeep comes with a clear matching WA statetitle, and has been described to the best of my ability. If you have any questions or want some more pics...just ask! Or you can also calland ask forDaveat 509-928-4460 or 509-991-4573. I can alsoarrange for transport and/or storage for this vehicle if you need it. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
